Om Subrahmanyaya Namah

Dear Gaurav,

By methods I think you are refering to Pindayur method, Amshayur

method, Varnad Dasa etc. Like what these show, Longevity analysis is

a very tough matter. The best thing to do is to see whether the horo

falls in Alpayur, Madhyaur or Purnayur range and then look for maraka

periods coupled with adverse transits. However, differentiating the

horo in the different ayur groups is again a difficult process, as

there are many combinations like arishta yogas, arishtabhanga yogas

etc; which can reduce or increase the ayur. Some yogas can nullify

all other combinations and inflict death some times. Having said

this, I wait for learned members to explain it better.

Best Wishes,

Saaji

So many men, so many opinions.

In the end only Brahmaji knows the full story...

Re: [vedic astrology] How to calculate Longetivity?

Hello Peter, I personally know of at least two vedic astrologers who had

predicted their exact date of death much in advance. To quote one example, there

was this Pandit Narayan Jyotishi. In fact i am talking of the very early fifties

when i must have been 6 years old and there was this friend of mine amongst

others known as Nikku Ji,who used to play with me every day in the evening. What

happened was that Nikku JI suddenly stopped coming to the playground and one

could hear the voice of mantras being recited over a loudspeaker from his

house. When this continued for few days i asked my late grandmother about what

was happening. The grand venerable lady told me that Nikku Ji's grandfather

Pandit Narayan Jyotishi is going to die on such and such day and he has desired

that verses contained in each of the 18 chapters of Bhagwatgita be recited to

him in a ceremonial manner for 18 days before his death, one chapter each

day.Surprised about how anyone could know that Pandit Ji was going to die on

such and such day,i again raised the querry before my grand mother. She told me

that Pandit Ji was a great astrologer and used to be the court astrologer of

the former king of Kashmir,Shri Partap Singh and had himself predicted the date

of his death. And the prediction came correct to the dot,Pundit ji dying on the

predicted day, soon after the 18th chapter of Gita was recited to him. This was

in so far as predicting the date of death is concerned. In fact even i was able

to predict the date of the death of my mother last year,on the basis of the

movement of moon in my horoscope, but that was just about 20 days before the

event, when she was already bedridden and condemned to death by doctors,on

account of very advanced stage of liver cancer. However i had predicted the year

and approximate month of her death a couple of years before the

event.Considering everything,i would not say that it is not possible to detect

the death from astrology, but it is no doubt a very very tough exercise, say like

a liver transplant in surgery.Incidentally i may tell u here that i am not a

professional astrologer and this is in no way being said to impress anyone.I am

a very senior civil servant who is doing astrology as a hobby for 20 years now

and u may treat this post as a mere exchange of thoughts.

As regards ur other proposition about leaving the subject alone for it

is replete with error and many mixed emotions,i have to state that what u say

may be ok for those who do not do astrology, but cannot be acceptable in a group

where astrology is being discussed perse.See calculating the date of death is a

recognised exercise in astrology,no doubt difficult and therefore replete with

error. But you do not stop doing an exercise just because it is difficult. In

fact it should become more of a challenge if it is difficult and astrologers

who want to excel at the subject should endeavour to do this exercise.About the

emotional aspect i have to say that emotions should not affect the mindset of an

astrologer, like they should not and do not affect the mindset of doctors when

they find a patient dying. For an astrologer calculating the date of death

should be like a mathematical problem to be done without any emotions. In any

case death is the destiny of all of us,so why be afraid of it,when we know that

one day it has to come.I hope i have been able to put the point across.See

man, life or each day in life is a mixture of positive and negative for all of

us.A true astrologer when he sees a horoscope is bound to see both positive and

negative. From what i can see of ur post,u would like the astrologer to only tell

the positive and ignore the negative. But that way the astrologer is neither

being true to his client, nor to himself and not even to the science of

astrology.True astrology is not about predicting. It is about learning

harmony,to remain in a calm state of mind knowing well in advance what is

likely to happen, both positive and negative.Neither to get disturbed by the

negative nor elated by positive. The vedas say that learning astrology is one

step towards liberation of the soul.Ponder over it and tell me ur views if u

want to.Bye Rup Krishen

Dear Gaurav,The short answer to your question onlongevity calculation is to ask

Brahmaji...Humanity is not sufficiently advanced that it can adequately deal

with all the ramificationsthat such knowledge would bring. My humble advice is

to leave that subject alone. It is replete with human error and many mixed

emotions.Take care.Many blessings,Peter R.-
