Guest guest
Hi, I would like to know if any knows anything about the system used to predict events and more importantly, discover the person's karma from a natal chart and whatever else needs to be cast to see where they're going karmically and where they need to improve. Guest guest
Bill, There is much in each chart to be used for karmic analysis, keeping in mind the basic theories of karma and free will. Rahu, Ketu and their lords on one hand and the system that one may use to determine the karmic weight of each planet in a chart. One of those systems that I frequently use (adding some of my own experience...) is the one described in the book "Emperical Insights in Vedic Astrology". The article describing that system is written by R.K. Wishwakarma and covers your question to a certain degree as it does not involve any of divisional charts at all and entirely based on the rasi chart. There are many other good articles (by several learned astrologers) in that book. You'll have to get the book as it is copywrite protected and I can not mail any parts of it here. Guest guest
Dear 'Jay, Nice to see u back on the list. That book I have been pursuing from the last 5 months but it is not available from Sane Publications, Delhi. If anyone can get it for me from Delhi I shall be happy. Re the free will component as suggested by Mr. Wishwakarme, after going thro his technique I feel the average that comes out (in a few cases that i tested) is around 48% free will, which experienced astrologers might suggest that it is not entirely true. Ofcourse for us to have an analytical discussion on this is tough since every astrologer suggests different percentage of free will component and some dont even suggest there is any free will component at all. But one wonderful part of the article is what i had in mind from long which is every human has a different component of Free will, which even sages hidden from public eye has said it to me, the average fixed percentage of karma given by them was 65 % I also feel natives from different countries in general have a diff outlook, westerners are breed with the idea that their destiny is in their hands and thereby I feel maybe it grows on them to use their Right Brain more and to be strong willed and put in more effort to twist things in their favor ( maybe a stronger 3rd house emerges) whereas a weak mind and an upbringing in a society where every event is placed in someone elses hand can reduce the amount of free will exerted by an individual. Just my 2 cents. Guest guest
Thanks Sunil. During the week-end I have been doing some PR (public relations...) to Jyotish by holding a presentation to around 40 Swedish western astrologers (some of them "advanced armatures"). How can anyone have a "fixed karma" to 65% ? - that's beyond me... My personal(!) experience from the last two years shows that the karma balance on total average is between 44% and 58% for what I would call "the average Joe". HOWEVER all extreme cases (in various forms) had either lower or (mostly) much higher percentage - all the way up to 78% (for some criminals/druggists), where the weight is placed on the contributing planet (where I go beyond the article to see all influences on this planet and placement etc. in relevant vargas) - More so, it is my personal believe that people are born into specific societies for a reason as the society's (read nation as a whole) has a predefined karma. Then comes your personal karma. We see this very clearly when we look at charts of peoples who emigrated - for better or worse. The mechanism of free will operation is VERY complex and is yet to be studied in the future within practicality and beyond all theories, mixing the findings of medical neurology (read the brain's nervecells operations) and the mysteries of our soul. I am sure you'll agree that this is DEEP and very COMPLEX ... Who says Jyotish is easy, never the less the whole "karma business" within it <smile>... Guest guest
> How can anyone have a "fixed karma" to 65% ? - that's beyond me... What I'm trying to say is that when someone enters the world and takes his or her first breath (the moment the child begins to cry) there is an imprint. The unique imprint tells of the life's karmic story and others. For example, a planet going retrograde such as mars (I'm not really familiar yet with the sanskrit terminology) or aspects that are waning and not waxing. This denotes karma being exhausted. I have a 1 degree orb of Venus and Neptune that is a conjunt. This is one of the most influential aspects in my natal and is tied to the martyrdom of a Roman Soldier. That's what I mean by karmic astrology. Fixed karma ? Good karma can be generated in life in various ways like wisdom and combined with wisdom to eleviate some suffering. Karma is always exhausting itself. What I was referring to was the overall pervading compelling direction the life should take. Bill
