Hello Jai:

Jupiter began transit through Virgo as per sidereal/Vedic Jyotish.

Vedic and Western are totally different except some similarities with

planet placement in signs.

Western astrology includes Pluto, Uranus and Neptune and have

assigned various attributes to these planets; whereas, in Vedic

astrology, these planets are ignored.

If you want to avoid confusion, you should follow just one--Western

or Vedic.

You may also be confused by the Western weekly/monthly prediction as

it is done per the Sun sign; whereas, Moon sign is used for such

predictions in Vedic astrology.

The difference arises due to aynamsa. Ayanamsa is the numerical difference

between Tropical and Sidereal zodiac. The Zodic is an imaginary belt streching

north and south of the ecliptic, whose 12 equal parts known as 'sign' or

'rashi'. Actually on the sky the zodiac is one. But if we dont consider the

backward movement of precession, it is called Sidereal Zodiac and if we take it

into account, it is called Tropical zodiac. The rate of precession is about 72

minutes per year. This might seem technical to you and needs bit understanding

of astronomy! Westerns prefer planetary posisions on the basis of Tropical

zodical while their Indian counterparts prefer Sidereal zodiac.

At present the difference between these zodiacs (ie. Ayanamsa) is

"approximately" 24 degrees. So tropical zodical is ahead of sidereal zodiac.

These two zodiac coincide after every 26,000 years. But the starting date of

coinciding tropical and sidereal is also debatable topic. And we confronted

various ayanamsa definitions with minor differences, viz. Lahiri, Raman, Fagan,

KP, Aldebran, Ushashasi, etc. etc. At present we observe the westerner's Sun

sign starts roughly on 23rd of every month while as per Indians, Sun sign

starts on nearly 15th of every month (though it is not necessary).

For the sake of simplicity, say on tropical zodiac if a planet is reached at 24

degrees of Aries it will be at zero degree of Aries on sidereal zodiac. Thus

according to tropical system if Jupiter is approximately at 24 degree of Virgo,

it shall ingress into 0 degree of Virgo as per Siderealist.

According to Tropical system, on 25th September 2004 Jupiter will ingress into

zero degree of Libra and hence on that day according to Sidereal system Jupiter

will be nearly on 6 degrees of Virgo.

Hope the answer satisfy you.
