How do you astrologically verify if a Diksha Guru is suitable?

Dear all,

Subject pretty much says it all. Just as you see spouse from Upapada

do you see Diksha Guru from A9? In which chart? Rasi, Navamsa,

Vimsamsa? An elaborate explanation would be much appreciated..
