Hello Friends,

Transits are a very fascinating field, more so because when we talk

of Transits, we are talking about a Dynamic moving picture of planets

instead of a static picture of Birth chart. (Hope this does not

create a controversy).

On reading the remark " Does navamsha help nadi

predictions or is of no importance ? by a friend

in these columns, this remark brought to the mind

what the undersigned had read about transit

effects in amsha charts and also an article which

had been read some time back about Transit of

Saturn in Navamsha. The author Mr.Chhaya had

given some examples also.

Both Brigu and Deva Keralam has following principles

on Transits of Saturn.

Let us start with Devakeralam which says,

TATTADBHAVASHTMANSHE GOCHARE SHANI STHITE (or sanshite ?)

TATTATDBHAVA VINASHENA KLESHAM PRAPNOTI BHURISHA. ( DK Part 2,sloka

1014)

Meaning, From a given bhava, look for the

navamsha sign position of the 8th lord from that.

Whenever Saturn transits this navamsha,

it will cause destruction and grief to the mentioned bhava.

If this is a bit difficult to grasp, it can be explained

in the following manner.

If Saturn is transiting navamsha of 11th lord,

the mother of the jathaka ,his vehicles, his place of stay and

education may suffer.

If Saturn transits over navamsha of 9th lord, the person suffers

about money, speech and things indicated by 2nd house.

The above principle seems to be a reflection of what Brigunadi has to

say.

LAGNESHANSHE SHATRU PEEDA SWAMATULA JANAVADHIM.....

Meaning , "whatever navamsha occupied by Ascendent lord, when Saturn

passes over that amsha, the maternal side will suffer and things

indicated by 6th house will also be affected."

Presently, Saturn is passing thro Mesha Navamsha.

So it would be interesting to know how it has affected people who

have planets in Mesha Navamsha and how it affects the bhava in

question.

If learned friends have an experience of extention of this principle

to transits of Rahu and Jupiter, they are requested sincerely to post

them.

Please overlook and correct if any errors/ignorence is reflected in

this posting.

Dear Tatwam-Asi ji

What do we mean by saying - 'when Saturn is transiting navamsha of

9th lord'.

Does this mean whenever saturn is transiting a)the amsha sign of 9th

lord or b)saturn is transiting a particular amsha ie 9th amsha within

the rashi in which 9th lord is placed.

For case b - i will elaborate my doubt.Let us assume that 9th lord is

Moon and Moon occupies 2degrees in Makara in Rashi and hence

occuppies Makara navamsha as well.In this case do we mean - 'whenever

saturn transits the first 3.2 degrees of makara Rashi'(because

2degree is falling within the first navamsha ,0 to 3.2) ?

Because when saturn transits exactly the navamsha position(3.2

degrees) of a natal planet (9th lord here)the trnasit influence will

be very high.

I will request you or learned members to clarify this doubt.

Best regds
