Kapata Yoga Definition

I look forward to meeting you again next month in Boston! I read the nice points

you made with interest. There is one point where I want to throw further light.

The definition of Kapata yoga I am aware of does not involve lagna lord. It

involves a malefic in 4th and 4th lord conjoined/aspected/hemmed by malefic(s).

 

Attributing "being cheated" to Kapata yoga is honestly a stretch. I cannot buy

that. I am not aware of any author who takes that view. The name is also

insufficient to support that view. Kapata yoga is normally thought to make a

person deceitful, rather than being deceived. The 4th house shows heart and

this combination basically suggests impurity in heart and emotions.

 

However, Dr. Raman produced papers based on his vast studies that this yoga can

just make one diplomatic (rather than deceitful).

 

Just for the record, lest people should think that the chart under discussion

has this yoga, let me clarify. Though Rahu is in 4th, the 4th lord Mercury is

not afflicted. Not even an upagraha joins Mercury and he is unafflicted. Though

Moon aspects Mercury and some people may take Moon of Krishna paksha as a

malefic, Moon of Krishna Tritiya is almost full and hardly a malefic. He is

incapable of giving Kapata yoga. Though Mercury in Leo is hemmed by Mars in

Virgo and Sun and Mandi in Cancer, Venus in Cancer comes to his aid.

 

Thus, the chart under discussion does not have a complete Kapata yoga.
