Allow me to share some of my understanding of this chart, as I see it,

without judgment…

 

Mars finds its exaltation in the sign of Capricorn.

BPHS English Translation:

Chapter 3. Grah Characters and Description

49-50. Exaltation and Debilitation. For the seven Grahas, from Sūrya

on, the exaltation Rashis are, respectively, Mesh, Vrishabh, Makar,

Kanya, Kark, Meen and Tula. The deepest exaltation degrees are,

respectively, 10, 3, 28, 15, 5, 27 and 20 in those Rashis. And in the

seventh Rashi from the said exaltation Rashi each Grah has its own

debilitation. The same degrees of deep exaltation apply to deep fall.

This is part of the reason your sister-in-law is bold, aggressive, and

with a lot of energy.

 

With the adaptable Rahu (acting like Saturn, here), there is a bit of

the eccentricity, unconvention and rebel against the natural order as

it does not follow the natural order of the Sun.

 

This is further honed in by examining the Arudha Lagna (AL). If we

were to look at the trines to the AL, Virgo in the 9th, we will find

not only Mars and Rahu, but Saturn and Venus in the 5th as well.

 

Per the Vimshottari dashas, Mars / Mars is running, and is triggering

this Arudha (in Trines). She feel a bit protected, guided, and

recognized in her identity.

 

She is also thinking of great transformations on a deeper level, and

wondering about her karmic pathway (which could include the career

path) as well.

(Sun / Moon / Lagna Principle.)

 

Mars is not only involved in s Sarpa Yoga, but is the AtmaKaraka as

well, and hence she may be experiencing a lot of anger toward her from

people about her. Karmic lessons of life will compel her toward a more

peaceful state.

(For this, I would recommend her worship the Ishta.)

A Sarpa yoga is where 3 or more classified malefics are in the

Quadrants. Besides giving the person a sense of some bondage to the

situations in this world, bringing poor luck, it can also make one

passionate. The one that can help break this, would be the classified

benefics in the Quadrants, again. One would notice the Moon here,

again, but in the darker half of fortnight.

 

Checking the Upa / Gauna / Vyaya pada (UL), one would notice it with

with DaraPada as well (A7), revealing the importance of sexuality in

partners. If the husband (your brother) cannot fulfill or satisfy this

need, there could be a rift and your sister in law be ignored.

 

She may already not see eye-to-eye with the Mother-in-law or such a

figure during the time of marriage.

 

Children:

Do they have any?

 

Notice Jupiter retrograde, and Ketu in the 7th. Jupiter retrograde

has been discussed in the archives, and this is one thing that can

reveal something unusual about some of the significations of Jupiter

such as :

 

Marriage

Children

General happiness

 

With Ketu in the 7th it may become important for the person to have

children. However, this could be altered with Jupiter's gaze (Rashi &

Graha).

 

I get the sense she may waver back and forth.

 

On another note. Navamsa rectification is a must for this chart, and

calling upon the Ishta for guidance.

(Is she into any administrative-type of work, or can be a good

administrator / one who delegates? OR one good with repetitive tasks /

issues such as accounting, etc? OR neither, OR…?)

 

Suggestions:

The concept pf the Ishta is already touched upon.

 

The 2nd from the UL relates to the sustenance of the marriage. With

Jupiter here, again, calling upon the Ishta should help.

Karakamsa not only has the Moon, but Jupiter as well.

 

Fasting on the days ruled by the Upa Pada will bring about a more

harmonious relationship (Friday for this chart).

Dear Janine,

Planets posited are much less important than the lord of the house.

See the lord Saturn. Then, D-1, D-9 and D-60 must be analysed for any

single problem alongwith relevant specific D-chart, like D-10 for

profession. Besides, other technicalities too are involved. It makes

the process cumbersome, that is why hardly a few can predict

correctly. If you ask for reading the chart of a stranger, you can

witness shocking failure of all those making tall claims, including

authors of books, self proclaimed Gurus etc.

What you had read are general rules and should be interpreted

liberally, not literally. A wise synthesis has to be made, always. In

present case, see Mars and Rahu near Lagna point which make her

temperamental (Mars) and lazy (Rahu). Then see lagna devoid of any

benefic aspect. In Jaimini, present Cancer dasa (June 2004 to June

2007) won't be good for her marriage, I am sure. However, this period

will bring her good professional / financial success, perhaps most

certainly.

I read in a book that Mars in 1st House for Capricorn Ascendant, the

person is successful, organized, respected and is born into a good

family. My sister-in law's chart has this, and it has a complete

opposite effect on her. Her married life is up and down. She's

completely unorganized, lazy, self-centerd, always thinking about

herself, was born into a poor family, rebellious, argumentative, bold.

Why is this the case for her? She also has Rahu in Capricorn.

Could Rahu be the reason cojoined with Mars in capricorn ascendant?

 

Recently, she confessed to me about having an affair with a married

man from her job that started around October this year, and that my

brother wanted a divorce. She told me about it so that I can have a

talk with my brother to convince him to give her a second chance. I

was in shock that she came to me. She confided with me that her

sexual drive is quite strong which really caught me off guard.

 

Although my knowledge of vedic is limited, her chart does indicate

constant problems in relationship. She just entered Mars dasa, which

really is not throwing good aspect on 7th house. I just dont think a

second chance should be extended to her as I believe she will do it

again during her current Mars dasa. Her birth details are as follows:
