Dear Edrees, and other learned members,

Please check into the following:

(I am using MJUS, as rtanslated by Pt. Sanjay Rath, Sagar Publications.

CHAPTER I QUARTTER 1

1.1.10 Atmadhikaha kaladibhirna bhogassaptanamashtanam va

[4 words]

[Via NK]

Yes -- Maharishi Jaimini is introducing us into the calculations of

the **Chara** Karakas.

1.1.11 Sa eeshtay bandhamokshayoh.

[3 words]

[Via NK]

The Atmakaraka indicates the Ishtadevta and its disposition indicates

bondage or emancipation.

"Good" and "Bad" are subjective terms, and do not capture the essence

of lessons learnt.

Also remember that there are 3 Karak schemes:

1) Naisargik or natiral significators

2) Sthira or fixed significators

3) Chara or temporal significators

The lessons experienced by the Atman, will be different as experienced

by the Manas, as will be different from that of the physical self.

For example, Mercury cannot become the Maharishis by mimicing them.

Hence, in Pisces, he falls. There are no emotions involved.

Anoter example -- the Moon cannot sustain the dead, hence reaches its

fall in Scorpio.

WHERE the lessons of the Atman are experienced will be gatherd more

from the HOUSE where the Chara Atmakaraka sits.

A) Look at the sign where it is to examine the ENVIRONMENT (in fall,

thriving, or elsewise, etc.)

B) Look at the House where it sits

C) Look at other planets / interactions in the chart

D) Look at the Navamsa as well to get a better idea of Bhagya (or fortune)

For example, what does it mean to have the planet signifying the Chara

AtmaKaraka sitting in the 6th Vs. 7th House?

For Gemini rising, the Moon as the Chara AK in the 6th indicates that:

A) Cancer rules the 2nd House

B) The Moon is in Scorpio

...... life's challnges for the person will manifest in trying to

sustain him/herself (2nd House), or from the immediate family (or

kula) and manifest where there is service / rivalry involved. The

person will be compassionate (Moon) or on the way to such whereas will

find others may not share the same compassionate with him / her.......

For Taurus rising, the Moon as the Chara AK in the 7th indicates that:

A) Cancer rules the 3nd House

B) The Moon is in Scorpio

.....life's challenges for the person will manifest in initiation

(parakrama, 3rd House) and will manifest in the environment of

alliances / partnerships....... The person will be compassionate

(Moon) or on the way to such whereas will find others may not share

the same compassionate with him / her.......

For Aries rising, the Moon as the Chara AK in the 8th indicates that:

A) Cancer rules the 4nd House

B) The Moon is in Scorpio

.....life's challenges for the person will manifest in inner peace (4th

House) and will manifest in the environment of great

transformations....... The person will be compassionate (Moon) or on

the way to such whereas will find others may not share the same

compassionate with him / her.......

I hope some of these examples help....

Dear friend,

you had asked whether AK exalted , debilitated will make a difference

, here i quote 2 verses of Jaimini Sutras to clear the point, that

they do, indeed make an impact and a difference.

SU. 11.-Atmadhikaha kaladibhirna bhogassaptanamashtanamva.

Of the seven planets from the Sun to Saturn, or

the eight planets from the Sun to Rahu, whichever

gets the highest number of degrees becomes the

Atmakaraka.

SU. 12.-Saeeshtay bandhamokshayoh.

Atmakaraka gives bad and good result by

virtue of malefic and benefic dispositions such as

debility, exaltation, etc.

Hi Nitin

Namaskar.

Could you please elaborate the followings (bold in particular) -

For example, Mercury cannot become the Maharishis by mimicing them.

Hence, in Pisces, he falls. There are no emotions involved.

Anoter example -- the Moon cannot sustain the dead, hence reaches its

fall in Scorpio.

For Leo lagna with Mars (exalted) as AK in 6th (Makar), can we say that -

"Life challenges will manifest from inner peace, harmony, mother, happiness

- 4th & dharma, bhagya, father - 9th

and will manifest in the environment of strife, struggles, obstacles,

services and/or debts.

The person will be a fighter (mentally/physically) and find others

hindering his way to succeed."

Does this make sense?

regards

Tushankur
