Guest guest Posted October 26, 2004 Report Share Posted October 26, 2004 ||| Hare Rama Krishna ||| Ossi, Allow me to share some of my understanding.... Vimshottari can be calculated different ways, keeping the Ayanamsa the same. Amongst the popular methods I have see used, are between calculating from the Lagna, and the Moon. Using JH v5.0 (Commercial version of JHL) I obtain the following: ========================================= Vimsottari Dasa (started from lagna): Maha Dasas: Sat: 1958-05-30 (8:39:42 am) - 1977-05-30 (5:38:38 am) Merc: 1977-05-30 (5:38:38 am) - 1994-05-30 (2:15:33 pm) Ket: 1994-05-30 (2:15:33 pm) - 2001-05-30 (9:15:54 am) Ven: 2001-05-30 (9:15:54 am) - 2021-05-30 (12:16:13 pm) Sun: 2021-05-30 (12:16:13 pm) - 2027-05-31 (1:11:25 am) Moon: 2027-05-31 (1:11:25 am) - 2037-05-30 (2:46:44 pm) Mars: 2037-05-30 (2:46:44 pm) - 2044-05-30 (9:40:30 am) Rah: 2044-05-30 (9:40:30 am) - 2062-05-31 (12:29:44 am) Jup: 2062-05-31 (12:29:44 am) - 2078-05-31 (2:48:41 am) ========================================= Vimsottari Dasa (started from Moon): Maha Dasas: Rah: 1964-09-17 (12:52:14 am) - 1982-09-17 (3:36:55 pm) Jup: 1982-09-17 (3:36:55 pm) - 1998-09-17 (5:59:44 pm) Sat: 1998-09-17 (5:59:44 pm) - 2017-09-17 (2:54:27 pm) Merc: 2017-09-17 (2:54:27 pm) - 2034-09-17 (11:21:34 pm) Ket: 2034-09-17 (11:21:34 pm) - 2041-09-17 (6:30:27 pm) Ven: 2041-09-17 (6:30:27 pm) - 2061-09-17 (9:28:40 pm) Sun: 2061-09-17 (9:28:40 pm) - 2067-09-18 (10:24:44 am) Moon: 2067-09-18 (10:24:44 am) - 2077-09-17 (11:58:25 pm) Mars: 2077-09-17 (11:58:25 pm) - 2084-09-17 (6:55:40 pm) ========================================== Vimsottari Dasa (started from aadhaana star - 8th): Maha Dasas: Moon: 1969-08-07 (10:39:01 am) - 1979-08-08 (12:01:58 am) Mars: 1979-08-08 (12:01:58 am) - 1986-08-07 (7:03:17 pm) Rah: 1986-08-07 (7:03:17 pm) - 2004-08-07 (9:53:40 am) Jup: 2004-08-07 (9:53:40 am) - 2020-08-07 (12:13:08 pm) Sat: 2020-08-07 (12:13:08 pm) - 2039-08-08 (9:03:44 am) Merc: 2039-08-08 (9:03:44 am) - 2056-08-07 (5:38:12 pm) Ket: 2056-08-07 (5:38:12 pm) - 2063-08-08 (12:39:55 pm) Ven: 2063-08-08 (12:39:55 pm) - 2083-08-08 (3:34:42 pm) Sun: 2083-08-08 (3:34:42 pm) - 2089-08-08 (4:27:53 am) ============================================ Lastly -- always check the time zone (DST, etc.) as well.
