John Kerry Chart and Analysis (Kerry - Leo or Scorpio Ascendant?)

When Pt. Sanjay Rath was here a week ago, we spent a day working on Bush and

Kerry charts. Though we disagreed on the birthtime of Bush (I rectified it by 4

min, from 7:26 to 7:30), we were in complete agreement on Kerry's chart. We

rectified it together. I will give you the chart we came up with.

Please note that the above is 5 minutes off from an A-rated birthdata given at

Lois Rodden's www.AstroDataBank.com. They gave 8:03. That time explained a lot

of things, but we were totally dissatisfied with the dasamsa and found that

8:08 explained his career much better.

 

I will give a brief analysis of key events. Please go to

We used Dwisaptati sama dasa as lagna lord Mars is in 7th. The calculations of

In navamsa, Sun is the 7th lord in lagna. Kerry married in Sun-Sun AD. Moon is

the 6th lord in 7th. During Moon-Jupiter AD, he was separated from wife. The

6th lord in 7th can show disputes or separation. Jupiter is the 2nd lord (i.e.

8th lord from 7th) and shows the breaking of marriage.

 

Mars is the badhaka from 7th house and he aspects the 2nd house by sign aspect.

In Mars-Jupiter AD, he was formally divorced. Jupiter owns 2nd and shows the

breaking of the first marriage. As Mars aspects the 2nd house (which shows

second marriage), he gave the second marriage also.

 

In D-7, Mercury in 5th and Saturn in 9th would have normally tended to deny

kids. However, Sun in lagna with Ketu (the planet of continuity in lineage)

ensured that there are kids. So both his kids were born in Sun dasa. The two

kids were born in Sun-Merc-Merc and Sun-Sat-Sat PD's. It fits perfectly.

 

He pursued his BA degree in political science during 1962-1966. The 9th house of

D-24 is Libra. Libra and its lord Venus in Aries are aspected by Saturn from

Leo. Saturn in Leo can show political science. His bachelors education ended in

1966 Mercury antardasa. Mercury is in 8th from Libra and it explains why his

dasa ended the bachelors education.

 

In dasamsa, Rahu is in 6th. Mars and Saturn in 4th and Rahu in 6th have a graha

drishti on 10th. This can give a military career. In Dwisaptati sama dasa,

being a seershodaya sign, Rahu gives the results of his state in the first 2

antardasas, the results of the house owned by him in the next 2 antardasas, the

results of the house occupied by him in the next 2 antardasas and the results of

his aspects in the last 2 antardasas. Thus, he took him to military career in

the 5th and 6th antardasas (Sept 1965-Dec 1967). The aspects of Rahu and Mars

on 10th gave him an active military fighting duty. That happened in the last

two antardasas (Dec 1967-Feb 1970). It is interesting that his active military

duty ended in March 1970 (though he returned from Vietnam in 1969 itself). That

basically coincides with the ending of Rahu dasa.

 

Sun in lagna in Agni dasamsa shows political activities. His dasa started at the

end of Feb 1970. Soon after Sun-Moon antardasa began, he gave his famous

testimony at the Senate against the Vietnam war. He was the first Vietnam

veteran to give a Senate testimony! Moon and Jupiter are lagna and 5th lords

and their conjunction in 7th is a raja yoga as per Parasara. AK Sun's aspect on

this yoga involving AmK Moon gives Raja sambandha yoga. Thus Sun dasa started

his political career. Moon with Jupiter gave an anti-war activity.

 

He tried to run for a district congressional office in 1972. He did well in

primaries (in Moon antardasa). But he lost in the general election. Mars AD had

I usually spend a lot of time rectifying the charts of the clients whose chart

analysis requests I accept. But I am usually lazy to do the same kind of job in

political charts. For the first time, I spent an entire day rectifying political

charts. I and Sanjay ji spent a lot of energy rectifying Kerry chart from

several angles. We used three different charts and tried to rectify them to

explain known events (we did research on internet to find the dates and times

of several events). We honestly rejected charts when they did not make sense.

Finally, this is the chart we came up with and several Jyotish principles as we

know them work consistently in this chart.

 

I know that some people are cynical and hold on to the blind belief that we are

randomly choosing a chart and making a pre-determined prediction, because we

all "already know" what is going to happen (which is totally false. This is

still a 50-50 race based on plain common sense). However, Sanjay ji and I spent

a lot of energy in this particular rectification. Discerning astrologers can

judge for themselves the genuineness and worth of the analysis given above!

 

Though, unfortunately, we could not come to an agreement in Bush's case, we both

came to a clear agreement on this chart of Kerry. I hope our fellow astrologers

Thanks for clearifying doubts. The analysis you provided in defense of Scorpio

ascendant for Kerry is conceret as well as informative.

 

Would you please explain that Parasar's conditional dashas should use as

subsidiary with Vimshottari or if conditional dashas is applicable, then one

should prefers it over vimshottari. And what when more one conditional dashas

are going to applicable.
