Then in my chart, Lagna is Makara and my wife's Lagna is Kataka which is Sama

Saptaka and by the Grace of God, now we have completed more than 25 years of

married life and by 17th of next month , we will be completing 26 years of

married life.Of course she had passed many difficult periods in her life

pertaining to her health but we live happily with all these troubles.You can

One can not categorize one Lagna or other as being problematic on

account of other house ownership of 7th Lord. Much would also depend on

the position of the 7th lord and the spouse's horoscope. The only Lagna

which is declared to be some what unlucky by the sages is Aquarius and

here too, much will depend on strength of the Lagna and 7th house

besides other factors mentioned.

Dear Chandrashekhar,

I agree with your observations- although it seems to me that Saturn

in mentioned cases 'tends' to bring 'seriousness'/to avoid word

difficulty,lol/- but marrige is a serious business most of the time,

anyway, so Saturn fits well in that picture, doesn't it? Maybe even

better than Ju does? /I've seen "Sa" marriages eduring longer

than "Ju"'s.This is just one parametar, I know,not a rule, only 'it

depends..', as you said can cover this issue correctly /or any

other,for that matter/

You are right, Saturn especially in 7th gives more of a stability than

Jupiter there, subject to other factors. The reason Aquarius is said to

be a bit unfortunate appears to be that 7th house is lorded over by

Sun, who is capable of giving ego to the spouse. Certainly not a very

good factor for continuity of a marriage.

For Aq,the 7th Lord is Sun which is also the karaka for father.Venus is the 9th

Lord again representing father.So how to differentiate between the father &

husband (in a female chart) and judge results?

Dear Kaimal,

It is necessary to understand that the observations give a general

principle to fathom why Aquarius Lagna is supposed to be a bit

problematic for marriage. Sun Karaka for father ruling the 7th house

could also indicate very good relations with father. Venus on the other

hand is Karaka fro Kalatra that is spouse. He owns not only the 9th but

also the 4th for Aquarius, therefore his position in the chart would

dictate as to what results with respect to Father it would give. His

ownership of 9th could also indicate the spouse being much elder than

the subject.

However as I said at the beginning much would depend on the relative

position of planets and their Navamsha strengths.
