Namaste friends,

Based upon the daily Tithi Pravesha charts, it is my prediction that

tonight's US presidential debate will go well. Kerry will be eloquent

but a little shaky and Bush will be somewhat strong and fiery. Both

will do well, but Bush will come out of it with a little advantage.

The charts I am using are:

George W Bush

July 6, 1946

Time: 7:30:00

Time Zone: 4:00:00 (West of GMT)

Place: 72 W 55' 43", 41 N 18' 29"

John Kerry

December 11, 1943

Time: 8:08:00

Time Zone: 6:00:00 (West of GMT)

Place: 104 W 59' 03", 39 N 44' 21"

May Jupiter's light shine on us,

Narasimha

Dear Narasimha,

It is very rare of you to give predictions without astrological

analysis, can you kindly give analysis. I have seen your previous

Tithi Pravesh usage and no one uses the way you do, so it is always a

learning for most of us.

Have you rectified the birth times of the canditates, if yes can you

post them on the list.

Regards,

Sushmita

Namaste,

The daily Tithi Pravesha chart (DTPC) of Kerry is cast at 4:17:26 am (TZ: 6:00

west of GMT). This chart has Leo rising. Hora lord at the time of the chart is

Mercury. So he is the ruler of the day. He is exalted in rasi chart in the 2nd

house. Exalted Mercury in 2nd shows eloquence and smooth speech. However,

Mercury is debilitated in navamsa. So I thought he may be a little shaky here

and there. Kerry's main challenge was to dispel the noton so successfully

planted in the minds of people by the Bush campaign that Kerry was a

flip-flopper and a waffler. With the hora lord Mercury placed in 2nd in rasi

and debilitated in navamsa, I was not sure if he would deliver on that count.

When I said he would be eloquent but a little shaky, what I meant is that he

would talk smoothly and fluently but might not be able to convince too many

undecideds who are worried that he is a flip-flopper.

In dasamsa, Mercury and Venus are in 6th from AL. With two benefics in 6th, I

thought he would come across as being soft and not too attacking.

Now look at Bush's DTPC. It is cast at 2:23:53 am (TZ: 4:00 west of GMT). This

chart has Cancer rising. The hora lord is Sun. So Sun is the ruler of the day.

Sun is in the 3rd house. While Mercury in 2nd in Kerry's case shows eloquence

and fluenct speech, Sun in 3rd in Bush's case shows a strong, determined and a

scathing approach. So I said Bush would be somewhat strong and fiery. Moreover,

in dasamsa, Sun is in 3rd from AL. So I thought he would come across as being

attacking.

Overall, I thought both would do well and neither would deliver a huge blow to

the other campaign. But the solar strength made me think that Bush may come out

of it with a slight advantage. I thought Bush would use the opportunity a little

better to harm the credibility of Kerry, even though Kerry may appear more

eloquent and scholarly.

Whether that happened or not is debatable. Opinions of individuals who watched

the debate can vary and opinions of pundits who commented on the TV may vary.

Some would say Bush did better and some would say Kerry did. How the overall

electorate took the debates will become clear in a few days after the latest

opinion poll results are in.

May Jupiter's light shine on us,

Narasimha

Namaste Narasimha,

I haven't posted here in a long while, and so thought to chime in on the

interesting dialogue re: the Kerry v. Bush debate on 9/30/04 in FL.

In my local Jyotish class here three weeks ago, I had predicted to the

students that John Kerry would win the first presidential debate, and I

too chose the Daily TP charts for this purpose. I will come to the

charts in a moment. As you say, different pundits lean toward their

candidate in a partisan type of way, yet the poll numbers speak for

themselves. Two different polls reported Kerry winning by a margin

of 50 to 37, and 47 to 39 respectively. There were several polls,

yet most non-partisan politicos agreed that Kerry won the debate.

This becomes clear by the fact that the over-all popularity race has

narrowed, and now the race is in a dead heat, i.e. tied, whereas Bush was

ahead of Kerry by around 52 to 45 prior to the debate. I personally

saw the debate twice, and found that George Bush was defensive, clearly

annoyed and uneasy with the situation, and also having repeated himself

in general rhetoric over 13 times, such as "this war is a tough

job," etc. Kerry had more to say and was prepared on the

issues, was at ease and statesman-like, and appeared to have clearly

dissolved the myth of "flip-flopper" that the Republican smear

machine sought to implant in the collective mind.

Here is the way I viewed the TP charts for Kerry and Bush. First

the data:

John Kerry, Daily TP

September 30,

2004

Time: 4:16:27

Time Zone: 6:00:00 (West of GMT)

Place: 104 W 59'

03", 39 N 44' 21"

George W. Bush, Daily TP

September 30,

2004

Time: 2:20:05

Time Zone: 4:00:00 (West of GMT)

Place: 72 W 55' 43",

41 N 18' 29"

Now, in the chart of Kerry, Venus rises in the Leo lagna, while the

Su/Ma/Ju/Me combination fall in the 2nd house in the sign of Virgo.

This gives great strength to the success of his articulation in the

debate, given that (a) the Sun is lagna lord joining the exalted Mercury,

while (b) Mercury is the Hora lord for the day. If an exalted

Mercury on the day of the debate rules the Hora and is otherwise involved

in a powerful Raja-yoga in the 2nd house, then his opponent will have to

come up with some real talent in order to defeat him. Third, Venus

rising in the lagna as 10th lord in the A10 also, is a strong testimony

to Kerry's winning on style, diplomacy, respect for his opponent, and a

very distinguished and scholarly persona. There are other things,

yet the above come to mind first.

In Bush's TP chart, Saturn rises in the Cn lagna, while lagna lord Moon

is trapped in a Sarpa yoga in the 10th house and aspected by the nodes

plus Saturn. Jupiter's rulership of the 6th as well as A6, and

joining Hora lord Sun in Bush's chart, gives more strength to his

opponent (Kerry), while A6 in Kerry's TP chart joins Ketu and the AL,

i.e. his opponent struggles to find his strength in the debate.

These indicate his (Bush's) opponent gaining the upper hand.

Also, 6th and 7th lord Saturn (the adversary) goes to the 12th house in

Kerry's chart. Further in Bush's chart, the A10 is in the 8th

house, while Karesh himself joins the lagna (Saturn).

Bush appeared distracted, angry, and not very well prepared on all the

issues. Recent commentaries stated that Kerry won more on style and

class, in addition to the issues, and so Bush is shaping up on his image

now for the next debate scheduled on Oct. 8. Kerry, however, is a

tough competitor in the area of debates, so we shall see......

OK, those are my comments......more later on the Oct. 8 debates is

coming.

All the best,

Robert
