Guest guest
||| Hare Rama Krishna ||| Dear Utpal(?) Ji, I could not find Parasara explicitly talking about the Baadhak with relation to Gulika aand Mandi. However, this does not imply that their presence and influence will not alter a given situation. Per my understanding, Baadhak means one that causes baadha – obstacles. This need not imply evil. Evil is a subjective term. However, impediments are uncomfortable to all. Gulika / Mandi take / give poison. When added on to the Baadhak, their influence can be felt more to the person. Using the same logic, I can extend the same to the use with the Kharesh. Hope some of this helps. I have given some references / links below. Best wishes and warm regards, Nitin. || Namah Shivaaya || ================================================== http://www.srath.com/lectures/badhak01.htm Preta Bädhaka (Spirits of the dead) If the funeral ceremonies or annual rites called Shraddh of the dead are not performed, then, it is believed that such a dead person remains in the form of a Piçaca & affects relations. The presence of Gulika/ Ketu in the Bädhaka sign shows the danger. The malefic associating with Gulika shows the cause of death of the Piçaca. If Gulika/ Ketu is in any manner associated with Mars by conjunction, aspect or is placed in Aries or Scorpio, it shows sudden death or accident, burns, weapons, smallpox etc. If instead of Mars, the association was with Saturn, misery & poverty may be the cause of death. Rahu associating with Gulika shows snakebite and other deadly poisons. ================================================== BPHS (English Translation) : Ch. 50. Effects of the Dashas 20-21. Kumbh, Vrishabh, Simh and Vrischik are Badhak Bhavas for the four Movable Rashis: Mesh, Kark, Tula and Makar. In other words the 11th Rashi to a Movable Rashi is its Badhak Bhava. If there is a malefic in the Bhava, occupied by its Lord, or in Badhak Bhava of that Rashi, there will be occasions of great sorrow, imprisonment and diseases during the Dasha. 22. The Dasha of a Rashi will be favourable, if it is occupied by its own Lord, or an exalted Grah. The Dasha of a Rashi, not occupied by any Grah, will be adverse. 23-25. There will be great danger, imprisonment during a journey, displeasure of Government and danger from enemies in the Dasha and Antar Dasha of the Rashi, from which its Badhak Bhava, Vyaya, Ari and Randhr are occupied by Rahu. There will be loss, due to the displeasure of the king and danger therefrom in the Antar Dasha of the Rashi, that is occupied by Sūrya, Mangal, Rahu and Śani. Ther= e will be the possibility of death, if the 5th and the 9th from the Antar Dasha Rashi are occupied by a debilitated, or malefic Grah. ================================================== Dear all, Normally it is said that 11th, 9th & 7th house, It's Lord or Planet placed in those houses becomes 'Badhak' planet for Chalit, Sthir & Dwiswabhavi Lagna respectively. but I need to add that Some renowned astrologers have given a theory that to qualify for the complete Badhakhood the above said planet should also satisfy any one of the following conditions: 1) The planet(Badhaka house lord or planet plcaed in badhak house) should also OWN the Rasi occupied by despositor of Mandi. or 2) The planet should also own the rasi occupied by despositor of KHARESH (lord of 22nd drekkna from lagna). If the supposedly Badhak planet simaltaneously doesn't satisfy either of the above 2 conditions, then it can not be termed as Badhak planet and hence can not produce evil results attributed to Badhak phenomina. your views?
