Guest guest
Dear Narasimha and others, I tried to find the positions of planets in March 2005, and JHL shows Saturn moving back to Gemini! My understanding is that Saturn stays in the same constellation for 2.5 years. Is this a bug in JHL, or am I mistaken? Also, I think JHL could do with some usability improvements, especially for beginners. For instance, it took me a while to figure out that the chart that comes up shows the horoscope based on current time. A label somewhere (in the middle of the rasi chart?) would have helped. Also, I discovered the feature to find the exaltation/debititation etc. of planets only recently. It is hidden away. If clicking on planets gives another drop-down box, just with the properties of planets (instead of this huge list of options), that would be helpful. Guest guest
Dear Ram, We all started at one point from scratch and that's is also what you should do. Planets have a phenomena known as "retrograde motion", which is in every first chapter on any kind of astrology book. Search the archives or the net for the same and you'll find tons of information. As to JHL, it is NOT a bug and it is not different than any other user friendly astrology program. Most of the existing programs will start with either a default chart (which the user selects), an empty chart or for the best part, a "here and now" chart, also known as Prasna chart (search the archives and/or the net ...). Start at the start line with basics ... and good luck.
