Ishta and other devatas

Namaste Vishnugaru,

 

Ishta Devata is seen from the 12th from AK in navamsa, because praying to Ishta

can liberate the soul from bodily existence. From D-1 to D-12 all charts deal

with physical plane and its pre-occupation with the four purusharthas. Hence

you see Palana Devata and Dharma devata also from Navamsa.

 

Praying to Kula devata and Grama devata is automatically handed down from

generation to generation in a family / village, as a collective as well as

individual upasana, so this worship pertains to the "conscious mental plane"

and is to be read from 8th house / D-20 chart. Hence, I think, kula

devata/griha devata and grama devata are the indicated by 2nd & 4th houses,

respectively, in D-20.
