Guest guest
Hi everyone, I am a beginner and trying to study astrology on my own. I have a few questions regd Rahu & Ketu: In many places it is written that the mooltrikone for Rahu is Virgo and for Ketu is Pisces. (a) Suppose Rahu & Ketu are in their mooltrikone, then does it do good or bad for that house ? Also, when Rahu & Ketu are in their mooltrikone does it cause harm or good to the houses (5th, 7th, 9th from them) they are aspecting ? (b) Suppose for example Rahu (or Ketu) is in conjuction with another planet lets say Moon (or any other benefic) and that planet (which is Moon in this example) is in exchange of house with another planet lets say Jupiter, i.e. Moon is in the house of Jupiter and Jupiter is in the house of Moon. Now traditional books say that exchange of planets is very good. My question is that during exchange of planets, suppose one of the planets is also in conjunction with Rahu (or Ketu), then what is the result ? Also suppose the conjunction with Rahu (or Ketu) is also such that Rahu (or Ketu) is in its Mooltrikone, then what is the result ? Thanks, Pradipto New and Improved Mail - Send 10MB messages! Guest guest
The Rahu and Ketu acts differently from other planets. Apart from this, it is more important to look house placement of a graha rather than sign placement, as former gives (good or bad) effects while later gives how the effect would manifest. Rahu and Ketu donot lord any sign but they are only alloted co-lordship of Aq and Sc respectively. But this is not a universally accepted distribution, infact there are lot of differences on the lordship/exaltation/mooltrikoon of Rahu and Ketu. Any how, here's some basics regarding nodes. ----- RAHU & KETU ------ * Being as natural malefics Rahu/Ketu generally harm the significance of house, where they are placed and planets on which they cast aspect. As nodes indicate sins(faults or weaknesses) of previous birth. (although Ketu is not assumed harmful regarding spiritual matters) * Rahu/Ketu are supposed to do good when occupied in opachaya bhavas (3,6,10,11), either from lagna, Moon, AL or from dashanath. Good rsults may be felt in the form of victory over opponents, sportsmanship, courage, success in showbiz and unexpected gain from foreign sources and exports, provided their dispositors are in good hosue. * They give results of house where they occupied, planet conjoined with and aspects receiving. * Rahu or Ketu if within the deeptamsa (orb) of house cusp then they yield pronounced result of house occupied (and its lord); if more close to conjoined planet then result of that planet; and if more close to aspect (i.e. under full precise aspect) then results of planet aspecting them. * Rahu or Ketu if placed in 1,4,10 and has an association (sambandh) with lord of trines constitute a Raja Yoga. * Rahu or Ketu if placed in 1,5,9 and has an association (sambandh) with lord of quadrants constitute a Raja Yoga. * When Rahu and Ketu are in either Ge and Sg or Vi and Pi. And not in 2nd, 6th, 8th, 12th, their periods bestow great wealth, power and success. * If Rahu or Ketu is occupy alone in any house, then the (good or bad) result would intensely feel at beginning and termination of the periods. * If nodes are in bad houses specially in 8th, 12th or in marakasthan (2nd, 7th) from lagna or Moon then first and last antardasas in their mahadashas are generally harmfull and very bad. In 8th house they are bad for career/business. * Without beneficial aspect, in 2nd-8th axis nodes produce much financial ups and down and family problem specially during their dasha and antar. * Satvik grahas (Sun, Moon, Jup) under aspect or conjuction of nodes, afflict them severely, and leads to ChandAl Yoga. The natural significance of these satvik grahas suffers alot. * Rahu in the sign of Jupiter (ie. either in Sg or Pi) is not beneficial. Setback, litigation, or death of elders may be experienced when Jupiter transits Sagittarius and Pisces. * Ketu in 12th in water signs, or 12th from AK in navasmasha promise moksha. Hope you find answer from above illustrations. Regards M.IMRAN Pradipto Banerjee <pradiban > wrote: Hi everyone,I am a beginner and trying to study astrology on myown.
