excellent – gives 100 years longevity. This is only the case with Libra

It was my own

mistake – sorry.

In this loka

only the body (lagna) can die, hence when there is talk of Marana Karaka Sthäna,

it should be applied specifically to the Udaya Lagna or Progressed Lagna (Dasa Räçi)

only.

The method of

judging Chandra and Sürya Lagna’s is different and should be understood from

the Chandra and Sürya Yogas given in BPHS.

Small

example:

Malefics in

12th from Moon gives problems from the spouse, whilst 2nd

from Moon gives the same from the close family – this is the basis of Sade

Sathi.

6th,

7th and 8th from Moon will have an impact on ones

finances, and malefics there will give a negative impact.

5th

and 9th from Moon has an impact on ones personality and how it

changes in a positive or negative way, i.e. Saturn or Rähu in 5th or

9th from Moon can cause severe depression.

So assume

that the Sun is in Marana Karaka Sthäna and in the 7th from the Moon

– due to a strained financial situation the native may start taking risks

with their life (lagna lord) and then suffer.

Take Guruji’s

example of Mars in 7th from Lagna and 8th from Moon –

Because of a feeling of financial insecurity or instability, he entered into a business

with his father which resulted in a very negative outcome with his students.

This is also

the method used to judge the effects of Dasa’s.

from surya - then

surya will be in kendra from chandra(suppose if

chandra is in cancer

for leo lagna).I hope under such a case marana

sthana effects get

Dear Pradeep,

The reason and logic is pretty straight forward. Moon being 180degrees

from Sun will have full Paksha bala. He would also be aspecting own

Bhava making Cancer very strong(Lagnesh aspecting Lagna). With a strong

Lagna dispositing Sun representing Raja, the results indicated must

come through. Sun would also in turn aspect Moon in Rasi of Saturn and

make his decision making process a bit more stable too.

Of course much would depend on other planetary placement too, and as I

always say no single statement should be taken in isolation. One must

apply all the principles to come to right conclusion.

The reason for stability is both on account of Moon in Prithvi tatwa

Rasi and the fact of Sun aspecting his enemy's Rasi, whom he can not

No, its got

nothing todo with lordships from their signs.

It has to do

with the characteristics and goals of that planet. Mars is the Karaka of

Brahmachari hood, and he has lost his complete purpose of life when he gets

married – so Mars’ Marana Karaka Sthäna is the 7th house.

Jupiter above all tries to maintain peace in society, and promoting

spirituality. When Jupiter puts the mala aside and picks up the Gun, he has

lost his complete purpose in life. Rähu is the bhogi and as far as he is

concerned the world should be one big market place where you can buy anything

you please… now picture putting Rähu in a temple and asking him to say

prayers – he looses his purpose in life completely – his kärakatva looses

meaning in this world and he may just as well end his life – that’s

Marana Karaka Sthäna.

I was trying to understand your explanation.I

think saturn is a

marana karaka for sun and moon (as it owns maraka

houses from sun and

moon respectively).Thus when sun or moon is in

such a house ,where a

maraka becomes karaka - it experiences marana

thulya diffiulties.I

think as Chandrashekhar ji has mentioned, only multiple

evil factors

may result in pronounced effects. Becasue even

marakas can become

good dhanyoga karakas.

Similarly Venus rules maraka houses from mars and

mercury and thus

the house where it is a karaka - becomes marana

karaka for the said

planets.similar was the case with other planets.

But i have found in some cases 2nd house rulership

is taken while for

the others, 7th rulership.Are there any special

reasons?

Mars is karaka for 3rd house, the marana sthana

for jupiter.From

jupiter(w.r to pisces) mars owns 2nd house, while

from dhanu it rules

5th.

Is my understanding going in the right direction.

nothing todo with lordships from their signs.

has to do

with the characteristics and goals of that planet. Mars is the Karaka

of

Brahmachari hood, and he has lost his complete purpose of life when he

gets

married – so Mars’ Marana Karaka Sthäna is the 7th house.

Jupiter above all tries to maintain peace in society, and promoting

spirituality. When Jupiter puts the mala aside and picks up the Gun, he

has

lost his complete purpose in life. Rähu is the bhogi and as far as he

is

concerned the world should be one big market place where you can buy

anything

you please… now picture putting Rähu in a temple and asking him to say

prayers – he looses his purpose in life completely – his kärakatva

looses

meaning in this world and he may just as well end his life – that’s

Marana Karaka Sthäna.

I was trying to understand your

explanation.I

think saturn is a

marana karaka for sun and moon (as it

owns maraka

houses from sun and

moon respectively).Thus when sun or moon

is in

such a house ,where a

maraka becomes karaka - it experiences

marana

thulya diffiulties.I

think as Chandrashekhar ji has

mentioned, only multiple

evil factors

may result in pronounced effects.

Becasue even

marakas can become

good dhanyoga karakas.

Similarly Venus rules maraka houses from

mars and

mercury and thus

the house where it is a karaka - becomes

marana

karaka for the said

planets.similar was the case with other

planets.

But i have found in some cases 2nd house

rulership

is taken while for

the others, 7th rulership.Are there any

special

reasons?

Mars is karaka for 3rd house, the marana

sthana

for jupiter.From

jupiter(w.r to pisces) mars owns 2nd

house, while

from dhanu it rules

5th.

Is my understanding going in the right

direction.

Namaste Visti,

I have a small query about nodes being placed in maranakaraka sthana. Nodes are

supposed to give the results of their house lords in an enhanced manner. When

you talked of Rahu placed in a temple, that is the 9th house, he is in marana

karaka sthana. Will such a Rahu be capable of fully delivering the "enhanced"

results? Or is it that his power to deliver is not impaired, it is only that he

has lost his maleficence?

If so, is maranakaraka sthana a good placement for malefics, both natural as

well as functional? For example, I have Saturn and Rahu in maranakaraka sthana

and in amrita & saumya shashtyamsas, which i guess would slightly blunt the

sharp edges! And my Rahu dasa, as I have stated so often, is just TERRIFIC.

Infact, i keep wondering if my Jupiter Mahadasa would be as good!!

You too have Rahu in 9th house, and you are currently running Rahu dasa too and

I am sure your experience is also the same. Perhaps, Rahu, when placed in a

temple, will use the japamala also with equal fervour?

No, its got nothing todo with lordships from their signs.

It has to do with the characteristics and goals of that planet. Mars is the

Karaka of Brahmachari hood, and he has lost his complete purpose of life when

he gets married – so Mars’ Marana Karaka Sthäna is the 7th house. Jupiter above

all tries to maintain peace in society, and promoting spirituality. When Jupiter

puts the mala aside and picks up the Gun, he has lost his complete purpose in

life. Rähu is the bhogi and as far as he is concerned the world should be one

big market place where you can buy anything you please… now picture putting

Rähu in a temple and asking him to say prayers – he looses his purpose in life

completely – his kärakatva looses meaning in this world and he may just as well

end his life – that’s Marana Karaka Sthäna.

Is this more clear?

Rähu is in Cancer

– unconjoined in my chart. During Moon Dasa, Yama came to take me 3 times

– twice due to an injury to the head, and once I almost drowned –

but all 3 incidents happened in water (Cancer). My Family also moved to Denmark

in that time, fearing that the scene in Kenya was going

for the worse (4th lord in Marana Karaka Sthäna).

As soon as Rähu

Dasa started I have been traveling and studying Jyotish (Badhakesh in the 11th

house).

Now notice

that Rähu is AK as well. So here Rähu is actually making me spiritual –

how? Rähu in Marana Karaka Sthäna will show the fall of religious institutions

or temples which will encourage me to be more spiritual - AK. So when people

say that one should leave Veda’s and Vedangas to the Indians, I say that I’ve

only seen the majority of Indians make a greater mess of it – But that is

my Atma.

There was

also some punishment before I turned towards Jyotish and Spirituality, because

of Rähu being in the Dharma Sthäna – malefics in the 9th house

or joined 9th lord, will punish the person quite severely and cause

dur-bhagya.

I.e. take

Franklin D. Roosevelt – after he admitted to having an illicit affair, he

got polio and lost his legs. He had 7th lord Saturn in the 9th,

hence some Adharma related to 7th house.

Visti,

I have

a small query about nodes being placed in maranakaraka sthana. Nodes are

supposed to give the results of their house lords in an enhanced manner. When

you talked of Rahu placed in a temple, that is the 9th house, he is in marana

karaka sthana. Will such a Rahu be capable of fully delivering the

"enhanced" results? Or is it that his power to deliver is not

impaired, it is only that he has lost his maleficence?

If so,

is maranakaraka sthana a good placement for malefics, both natural as well as

functional? For example, I have Saturn and Rahu in maranakaraka sthana

and in amrita & saumya shashtyamsas, which i guess would slightly

blunt the sharp edges! And my Rahu dasa, as I have stated so often, is just

TERRIFIC. Infact, i keep wondering if my Jupiter Mahadasa would be as

good!!

You too

have Rahu in 9th house, and you are currently running Rahu dasa too

and I am sure your experience is also the same. Perhaps, Rahu, when

placed in a temple, will use the japamala also with equal fervour?

No, its got

nothing todo with lordships from their signs.

It has to do

with the characteristics and goals of that planet. Mars is the Karaka of

Brahmachari hood, and he has lost his complete purpose of life when he gets

married so Mars Marana Karaka Sthdna is the 7th house. Jupiter

above all tries to maintain peace in society, and promoting spirituality. When

Jupiter puts the mala aside and picks up the Gun, he has lost his complete

should be one big market place where you can buy anything you please now

picture putting Rdhu in a temple and asking him to say prayers he looses his

I was trying to understand your explanation.I

think saturn is a

marana karaka for sun and moon (as it owns maraka

houses from sun and

moon respectively).Thus when sun or moon is in

such a house ,where a

maraka becomes karaka - it experiences marana

thulya diffiulties.I

think as Chandrashekhar ji has mentioned, only multiple

evil factors

may result in pronounced effects. Becasue even

marakas can become

good dhanyoga karakas.

Similarly Venus rules maraka houses from mars and

mercury and thus

the house where it is a karaka - becomes marana

karaka for the said

planets.similar was the case with other planets.

But i have found in some cases 2nd house rulership

is taken while for

the others, 7th rulership.Are there any special

reasons?

Mars is karaka for 3rd house, the marana sthana

for jupiter.From

jupiter(w.r to pisces) mars owns 2nd house, while

from dhanu it rules

5th.

Is my understanding going in the right direction.

Dear Visti,

Namaste.

Before I proceed to our current topic, I just wanted to share something with

you. Today I was interacting with some Professors of Rashtriya Sanskrita

Vidyapeeth and we were discussing about revival of interest in ancient

cultures/languages etc and how the youth today is so focused about reaching

their goals. All through this discussion, I thought only about you and Freedom

and your single-minded sadhana. You both personified to me the quest for

perfection. Stick to that sadhana, leave petty minded people and their deranged

comments behind. Vedas and vedangas talk about ParamAtma and as Yama told

Nachiketa, such knowledge comes only to them to whom The Atma has chosen to

reveal Itself. And, I don’t think The Atma is overly worried about

nationalities and colour

of the skin.

It was interesting to read about your Rahu dasa which had elapsed so far. I,

on the contrary had not experienced any negative effects of Rahu dasa at all.

Perhaps, because Rahu is your AK as well, you have had those accidents…my mars

dasa was equally bad.

Ofcourse, for me, save for a surprisingly easy caesarian (Rahu is putrakaraka)

and one or two minor accidents which could have been really serious, but even

my little finger was not hurt. Ofcourse, my father had passed away, but then

he was very old and tired and probably badly needed a change of body, and

interestingly he passed away in my Rahu-Ketu dasa and Ketu is in the 7th

(Kumbha) from my 9th and the lagna of my father’s punya chakra is also

kumbha!!

You know why I really like my Rahu mahadasa? Not because it was highly

prosperous, but because I had the good fortune of meeting Sanjayji and all of

you good folk, and it is in this Rahu-ketu dasa that I was made to move to

Tirupati. I am literally on the threshold of Vaikuntha!! What more can I

possibly ask for? What else can possibly rival this bliss?

What made the difference our Rahu dasas? Jupiter’s aspect in mine? And the fact

that Rahu is your AK?

Rähu is in Cancer – unconjoined in my chart. During Moon Dasa, Yama came to take

me 3 times – twice due to an injury to the head, and once I almost drowned – but

all 3 incidents happened in water (Cancer). My Family also moved to Denmark in

that time, fearing that the scene in Kenya was going for the worse (4th lord in

Marana Karaka Sthäna).

As soon as Rähu Dasa started I have been traveling and studying Jyotish

(Badhakesh in the 11th house).

Now notice that Rähu is AK as well. So here Rähu is actually making me spiritual

– how? Rähu in Marana Karaka Sthäna will show the fall of religious institutions

or temples which will encourage me to be more spiritual - AK. So when people say

that one should leave Veda’s and Vedangas to the Indians, I say that I’ve only

seen the majority of Indians make a greater mess of it – But that is my Atma.

There was also some punishment before I turned towards Jyotish and Spirituality,

because of Rähu being in the Dharma Sthäna – malefics in the 9th house or joined

9th lord, will punish the person quite severely and cause dur-bhagya.

I.e. take Franklin D. Roosevelt – after he admitted to having an illicit affair,

he got polio and lost his legs. He had 7th lord Saturn in the 9th, hence some

Adharma related to 7th house.

Namaste Visti,

I have a small query about nodes being placed in maranakaraka sthana. Nodes are

supposed to give the results of their house lords in an enhanced manner. When

you talked of Rahu placed in a temple, that is the 9th house, he is in marana

karaka sthana. Will such a Rahu be capable of fully delivering the "enhanced"

results? Or is it that his power to deliver is not impaired, it is only that he

has lost his maleficence?

If so, is maranakaraka sthana a good placement for malefics, both natural as

well as functional? For example, I have Saturn and Rahu in maranakaraka sthana

and in amrita & saumya shashtyamsas, which i guess would slightly blunt the

sharp edges! And my Rahu dasa, as I have stated so often, is just TERRIFIC.

Infact, i keep wondering if my Jupiter Mahadasa would be as good!!

You too have Rahu in 9th house, and you are currently running Rahu dasa too and

I am sure your experience is also the same. Perhaps, Rahu, when placed in a

temple, will use the japamala also with equal fervour?

No, its got nothing todo with lordships from their signs.

It has to do with the characteristics and goals of that planet. Mars is the

Karaka of Brahmachari hood, and he has lost his complete purpose of life when

he gets married so Mars Marana Karaka Sthdna is the 7th house. Jupiter above

all tries to maintain peace in society, and promoting spirituality. When

Jupiter puts the mala aside and picks up the Gun, he has lost his complete

purpose in life. Rdhu is the bhogi and as far as he is concerned the world

should be one big market place where you can buy anything you please now

picture putting Rdhu in a temple and asking him to say prayers he looses his

purpose in life completely his kdrakatva looses meaning in this world and he

may just as well end his life thats Marana Karaka Sthdna.

Is this more clear?

Thankyou for

your encouragement. Same to you!

I decided to

take a look at your chart and noticed that you have 3 planets in the 9th house,

among which one of them is Rahu – this changes the story abit as special

rules are applied to derive the results.

The most

malefic and most benefic of the planets will give each others effects, the one

in between will give its own effects. Here Rähu, Sun and Mercury are joined in

your 9th house, and hence Rähu will act as Mercury and Mercury will

act as Rähu, whilst Sun will stay the same.

So in Rähu Dasa

expect Mercury’s results of DharmaKarmadhipati Yoga to result.

As for Putra

Karaka, when Rähu becomes Putra karaka the results come very sudden – i.e.

childbirth is sooner than expected, or the likes. Usually Saturn and Mars cause

painful deliveries, where anger/frustration (mars) as well as pain and crying (Saturn)

arises.

Before I proceed to our current topic, I just wanted

to share something with you. Today I was interacting with some Professors of

Rashtriya Sanskrita Vidyapeeth and we were discussing about revival of

interest in ancient cultures/languages etc and how the youth today is so

focused about reaching their goals. All through this discussion, I thought

only about you and Freedom and your single-minded sadhana. You both

personified to me the quest for perfection. Stick to that sadhana, leave

petty minded people and their deranged comments behind. Vedas and vedangas

talk about ParamAtma and as Yama told Nachiketa, such knowledge comes only to

them to whom The Atma has chosen to reveal Itself. And, I dont think The

Atma is overly worried about nationalities and colour of the skin.

It was interesting to read about your Rahu dasa which

had elapsed so far. I, on the contrary had not experienced any negative

effects of Rahu dasa at all. Perhaps, because Rahu is your AK as well, you

have had those accidentsmy mars dasa was equally bad.

Ofcourse, for me, save for a surprisingly easy

caesarian (Rahu is putrakaraka) and one or two minor accidents which could

have been really serious, but even my little finger was not hurt. Ofcourse,

my father had passed away, but then he was very old and tired and probably

badly needed a change of body, and interestingly he passed away in my

Rahu-Ketu dasa and Ketu is in the 7th (Kumbha) from my 9th

and the lagna of my fathers punya chakra is also kumbha!!

You know why I really like my Rahu mahadasa? Not

because it was highly prosperous, but because I had the good fortune of

meeting Sanjayji and all of you good folk, and it is in this Rahu-ketu

dasa that I was made to move to Tirupati. I am literally on the threshold of

Vaikuntha!! What more can I possibly ask for? What else can possibly rival

this bliss?

What made the difference our Rahu dasas?

Jupiters aspect in mine? And the fact that Rahu is your AK?

Cancer unconjoined in my chart. During Moon Dasa, Yama came to take me 3 times

twice due to an injury to the head, and once I almost drowned but all 3

is my Atma.

There was

also some punishment before I turned towards Jyotish and Spirituality, because

of Rdhu being in the Dharma Sthdna malefics in the 9th house or

joined 9th lord, will punish the person quite severely and cause

dur-bhagya.

I.e. take

Franklin D. Roosevelt after he admitted to having an illicit affair, he got

polio and lost his legs. He had 7th lord Saturn in the 9th,

hence some Adharma related to 7th house.

Visti,

I have

a small query about nodes being placed in maranakaraka sthana. Nodes are

supposed to give the results of their house lords in an enhanced manner. When

you talked of Rahu placed in a temple, that is the 9th house, he is in marana

karaka sthana. Will such a Rahu be capable of fully delivering the

"enhanced" results? Or is it that his power to deliver is not

impaired, it is only that he has lost his maleficence?

If so,

is maranakaraka sthana a good placement for malefics, both natural as well as

functional? For example, I have Saturn and Rahu in maranakaraka sthana

and in amrita & saumya shashtyamsas, which i guess would slightly

blunt the sharp edges! And my Rahu dasa, as I have stated so often, is just

TERRIFIC. Infact, i keep wondering if my Jupiter Mahadasa would be as

good!!

You too

have Rahu in 9th house, and you are currently running Rahu dasa too

and I am sure your experience is also the same. Perhaps, Rahu, when

placed in a temple, will use the japamala also with equal fervour?

No, its got

nothing todo with lordships from their signs.

It has to do

with the characteristics and goals of that planet. Mars is the Karaka of

Brahmachari hood, and he has lost his complete purpose of life when he gets

married so Mars Marana Karaka Sthdna is the 7th house.

Jupiter above all tries to maintain peace in society, and promoting

spirituality. When Jupiter puts the mala aside and picks up the Gun, he has

lost his complete purpose in life. Rdhu is the bhogi and as far as he is

concerned the world should be one big market place where you can buy anything

you please now picture putting Rdhu in a temple and asking him to say prayers

he looses his purpose in life completely his kdrakatva looses

I was trying to understand your explanation.I

think saturn is a

marana karaka for sun and moon (as it owns maraka

houses from sun and

moon respectively).Thus when sun or moon is in

such a house ,where a

maraka becomes karaka - it experiences marana

thulya diffiulties.I

think as Chandrashekhar ji has mentioned, only

multiple evil factors

may result in pronounced effects. Becasue even

marakas can become

good dhanyoga karakas.

Similarly Venus rules maraka houses from mars and

mercury and thus

the house where it is a karaka - becomes marana

karaka for the said

planets.similar was the case with other planets.

But i have found in some cases 2nd house rulership

is taken while for

the others, 7th rulership.Are there any special

reasons?

Mars is karaka for 3rd house, the marana sthana

for jupiter.From

jupiter(w.r to pisces) mars owns 2nd house, while

from dhanu it rules

5th.

Is my understanding going in the right direction.
