E.g. Jupiter in one chart is in a dushtsthana(8th house) in the rasi chart, but in the Bhagyasthana (9th house) in the Bhava chart. I read somewhere that Bhava chart is not to be used casually.Only in specific cases -it should be used. What could be those specific cases? Guest guest
Om Subrahmanyaya Namah Dear Sri Raman, Namaste. You are right. By the word `assess' I meant the good and bad of a bhava, nothing more. For marriage matching also I meant only the `quantity' of Dosha. In How to Judge a Horoscope he clearly specifies to judge the horoscope using Rasi, Bhava and Navamsa. As I read him, I felt he is highly on Bhava Chart to assess bhavas, (so are old scholars) and the bhavas are, to a good extent affected by the planetary shifts. (I add hereunder my subsequent post in group in this regard). I also noted his point on Swami Sivananda's horoscope when he says about the shifting of Sani from Asc to the 12th. Like wise his points regarding afflictions in some other horoscopes. I applied this in my horoscope also, Jup is in the 6th in Rasi in Aries but in Bhava he shifts to the 5th in Pisces. I'm highly benefited with the consideration of Jupiter in the 5th, while the results of Jupiter in the 6th are also prominent. The great Varahamihira was clear in definition when he said `Rasi kshetra...', for him Rasi, Bhava all are same. Again, while I read his Bhavartha Ratnakara commentary I found him pinpointing the planetary combinations to see in Rasi Chart. So ultimately grouping all these, I reached the points I mentioned in the mail I add hereunder. I really appreciate your comments. Best Regards, Saaji - Om Subrahmanyaya Namah Dear Suchitraji, In your earlier mail, I didn't see Jupiter in the first glance, hence I took up Sun to explain. In the example, the 9th Bhava is fortified by Jupiter's presence. But whether this is good or bad depends on the sign in Rasi. (You should have given the sign also) Suppose Jup in the 8th in Rasi is in Cancer, and in Bhava its in the 10th in Leo, the 9th Bhava, Dharma is fortified as for Bhava we will consider it as in the 9th in Cancer, hence the person will uphold Justice, will be religious, his father will partake the characteristics of Jupiter, will be happy etc; In short 9th Bhava is favourably placed. But Jupiter's results(In Dasa etc) will depend more on the position in Rasi, Yogas etc; For this Rasi chart to be seen. Yogas and Aspects are more seen in Rasi chart. Hence in this example, there is Budhaditya Yoga in Lagna.
