Guest guest
color:black">Jaya color:black"> Jagannatha Respected Gurus and Learned Members, How would one select an auspicious time, Muhuratham, for Annaprasanam occation based on the native's nakshatra and other birth details. Please kindly throw some light on this. Thanks, Raj This is what I have read in Narada Purana II.56.330b-334 330b – 331aIt is auspicious to perform the First Feeding ceremony a Male child in the 6th or the 8th Month after birth. A Female child should be done in the 5th or the 7th month after birth. 331b- 332a- It is ordained to be oerformed on an auspicious weekday, on any lunar day except rikta (4th- Caturthi, 9th –Navami and 14th- Caturdashi), the omitted lunar day (refers to the lunar day being shorter than a civil day and hence not counted); nanda days (1st- Pratipat, 6th – Sashti and 11th –Ekadashi, the 12th day (Dwadashi) and the 8th day (Astami). 332b-334 - The First Feeding Ceremony would be auspicious in the nakshatras of the chara, sthira, mridu and ksipra classes; the 8th house indicating death should be vacant; during the rise of an auspicious sign and in an auspicious amsa thereof. In the forenoon when the rising sign is occupied or aspected by beneficent planets; when the 3rd, 6th and 11th (labha) hosues are occupied by evil planets while the kendras, 5th (dhi) and 9th (dharma) are occupied by beneficent planets and the Moon is in the 12th (vyaya), 6th (ari) or the 8th (nidhana). Good luck in working this out. Swee

Guest guest
Dear Swee Namste If I add from Dhamasindu, annaprashana should be done in 6th, 8th,10th, or 12th month for a boy where as for a girl it should be 5th,7th,or 9th month. The tithi should be dwitiya, tritiya, panchami, saptami, dashami,or trayodashi. Wed,Thu,Fri day are shubha. Guest guest
Om Vishnave Namah Dear Prabodh and Dewavrat, Thank you both for your inputs. Prabodh- I can't imagine someone waiting until the child is 10 months or a year old! I started feeding my 2 sons in their 8th month and that was a relief for me. Can you please give me details of Dharmasindhu?- The author and publisher etc.? Do you think we should take Candra Tarabala into account? Narada Purana also states that the 3rd, 5th and 7th from the birth nakshatra do not yield beneficial results. That is Moon is a benefic, all other planets will be beneficent. If Moon is malefic, all other planets will take on the same except the Sun. As for Sarvalagna, we might have to consider Virgo as the ascending sign for physical nourishment, all auspicious acts etc. NP: Towards the beginning of their rise, all signs will have their full strength, in the middle, medium strength and towards the end, little strength. BTW, any ideas on Vastu will be welcomed. But please, no commercial diatribe from these internet links I have thoroughly done the ins and outs of Feng Shui and will not endeavour to marry the two..........planning on a 50-family Community Estate (which my daughter has started to do as her dissertation for her degree), creating new roads + street lighting, water system, sewerage etc. over a 60 hectare (150 acres) rectangular shape. Q: Do I deposit the earthern pot with gems, gold, grain and lotus seeds at the nabhi of the entire site? Does it also mean that the area of the 9 squares of the nabhi cannot have any buildings? What is a cubit in metric measurement? Guest guest
Dear Swee Namste Dharmasindhu is written by a famous dakhhan pandit Shri.Kasinath Upadhyaya . The english translation is avaible at http://www.pitbossannie.com/iss-bl-8170300029.html I dont know much about vastu but I think we have to do the Shilyanasa in the Agneya(South-East) direction first. To get this done actually we have to calculate VrushaVastuChakra which is given in detail in the grantha called as ShantiRatna. Some say that Bhumipoojan can be done in the North-East direction. The kalasha with PanchaRatna and Ghruta should be put under the earth(4 to 5 feet) and on that spot the bhumipoojan should be performed. On the same spot Shilyanasa should as well be done so that nothing else will occupy the site. When Ravi is in KAnya,Simha,or Tula bhoomipoojan should be done in South-East, Ravi in Vrischik,Dhan, and Makar it should be done in NE diection, when Ravi is in Kumbha,Meena,Mesha it should be done in NW direction and when Ravi is in remaining three rashi bhoomipoojan should be done in NW direction. So, as far as I know bhoomipoojan in the center should be avoided. In the nakshtara context, AdhoMukha Nakshatra should be opted for bhoomipoojan as given in Vastupradeep.Vastushanti is again important than Bhoomipoojan. If Vastushanti is done properly any flaws which might have been there in Bhoomipoojan can be nutralized. Many things can be written. There is so much of information in Puranas and old scriptures. I hope this helps. Thanks a lot for your Time and Space. Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Raman, Thank you. I have your father's entire collection....please give me the name of the Publishers for both the books you've indicated and the name of your Grandfather's book/Publisher. Love, Swee Raman Suprajarama [cru115] 22 July 2004 15:43 swee; 'VA' RE: [vedic astrology] Re: Muhuratham Dear Swee Chan, Namasthe! You could benefit by reading revered Father Niranjan Babu Bangalore’s Book “Handbook of Vastu”. Grandfather has also written on Vastu in his book Muhurtha. The tithi should be dwitiya, tritiya, panchami, saptami, dashami,or trayodashi. Wed,Thu,Fri day are shubha.
