The general sayings about the phala of different lagnas only portray

"tendencies" NOT "destiny". For examples, Aries lagna natives often suffer toil

and hardship, Cancer natives have greater probability of short life(due to

Saturn who lords house of death as well as longevity). Similarly, it is

considered that Aquarius ascendant natives see poverty or lots of up-down in

their life (as lagnesh Saturn also rules 12th house and yoga karak Venus become

Bhadakesh). This is just because of functional ownership of planets falls in

significant houses and karakatwas.

 

Ramadas Rao beautifully illustrated how and why Aries is known as 'Mesh lagna

Daridaryam'. But this one, and this like other dosh, can not become bottom line

of the analysis. Various other factors have greater say in making and marring a

horoscope. A person can even die in the maha dasha of exalted lagna lord (eg.

Tagore), or become renown and ruler in the dasa/bukhti of functional

malefic(eg. President Bush), or confront obsticles in the period of

yoga-karaka.

 

Thus, only a systametic and balanced analysis can reveal the characteristic, and

forthcoming events. Dosh, arishata and daridra based on Lagna, Day, or Month

only show inclination and could not be maifest until other strong factors in

the chart do so.
