Guest guest
|Hare Räma Kåñëa| Dear Hamsa (one of the aspirations of the Jeevatma), Please do not add Om at the end of that mantra, it is prasiddha and will not harm you. color:navy">Om color:navy"> when it encapsulates a mantra is used to protect one from the evil effects of the same – there are no evil effects of the Satyanarayana Mantra. As for BPHS – I do not assume myself to be more enlightened than Päräçara; hence I do not stray far from his teachings. I respect your opinion, but do not abide by it, as I was taught how to apply the Saptadhatu in charts, hence see no need of taking on other ideas. VISTI about Mars which I quote as under, QUOTE, "Mars is the natural kdraka for CELIBECY(highlited), as he is a warrior and is required not to engage in such affairs, at least until 44 where the warrior can retire." UNQUOTE This being has done some work on co-relating astrology with periodic table. And the findings on Mars as the lord of 5th group of the Periodic Table are as follows. MARS A LORD OF 5th GROUP: In periodic table We know that Mars is the war lord. He is a Potent Male. He has a strong body. He rules over muscles and Bones. He has red eyes. Rules over red colour. Bismuth is a Reddish metal. Phosphorous is reddish. Without phosphorous, bones would be useless. Nitrogen belonging to 5th group is the basis of Amino Acids and other vital Amino compounds like Vitamins. Energy is Enclosed in ATP which is a Phospherous compound. Little information from Net is as follows, ATP is Energy! For your muscles -- in fact, for every cell in your body -- the source of energy that keeps everything going is called ATP. Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is the biochemical way to store and use energy. The entire reaction that turns ATP into energy is a bit complicated, but here is a good summary: Chemically, ATP is an adenine nucleotide bound to three phosphates. There is a lot of energy stored in the bond between the second and third phosphate groups that can be used to fuel chemical reactions. When a cell needs energy, it breaks this bond to form adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and a free phosphate molecule. In some instances, the second phosphate group can also be broken to form adenosine monophosphate (AMP). When the cell has excess energy, it stores this energy by forming ATP from ADP and phosphate. ATP is required for the biochemical reactions involved in any muscle contraction. As the work of the muscle increases, more and more ATP gets consumed and must be replaced in order for the muscle to keep moving. Because ATP is so important, the body has several different systems to create ATP. These systems work together in phases. The interesting thing is that different forms of exercise use different systems, so a sprinter is getting ATP in a completely different way from a marathon runner! Thus MARS is undisputed lord of Vitality. Arsenikom in Greek means POTENT or MALE. You will find Arsenic in 5th group. Outermost shell of Nitrogen and all the other elements has 3 electrons. Hence Mars is also known as Trikona . This denotes that Power lies in A Triangle. This may be the reason for Tantra diagrams being based on Triangles This is also why Kartik the commander of Deva's army (Mars) has Triangular Vel (LANCE) in his hand. Coming to original observation by Visti about Mars being Karaka for Celibecy is very new to this being. Guest guest
While i am writing this to you,i have two books before me.One is Dr Gouri Shankar Kapoor's book'Remedial measures in astrology',published by Ranjan Publications,1st edition published in1985,.Chapter two thereof relates to nature, functions and characters of planets. At pages 38 and 39 ,the nature etc of Mars is mentioned. It is stated therein-- that mars is significator of energy both constructive and destructive depending upon his position etc.It is masculine in nature and a strong mars bestows extraordinary muscular strength to the nativity. If mars is malefic in a nativity, the person concerned is likely to use brute force to fulfil his desires. Will always be ready for violence and if there are other indications in the horoscope, could be a sex maniac.now what is said by Dr.Kapoor cannot be ignored for he was head of the deptt of sanskrit/astrology in the Banaras Hindu university for 15 years and held in great esteem as an astrologer. The other book i have in hand now is Dr.B.V.Raman's 'Hindu Predictive Astrology',sixteenth reprint of 2002.Chapter 23 thereof gives thecharachteristics of signs and planets.Page 137 relates to mars.there is no mention of celibacy therein. On the other hand some of the karaktawas mentioned by Dr.Raman are---endurance,physical strength and manliness. Now Dr.Raman was no pygmy in astrology and what he writes cannot be ignored too. Coming to pure logic,Mars rules scorpio as one of its two signs and scorpio rules sexual organs. It is thus not at all logical to disassociate sex from mars.In fact i remember reading in a book many years ago,it was either a western astrologer or the late Pundit Gopesh kumar ozha that mars is the significator of male sexual vigour as opposed to venus being significator of female sexual vigour. So Q.E.D The confusion in the minds of certain people is generally caused because they think of sex as something impure. They forget that purity or impurity lies in their thoughts and deeds and not sex.Sex is sacred. If there were no sex, there would be no world. In fact if one's mind were to be pure then he/she would think of sex as something sacred and not to be shunned. Normally i do not write on the list nowadays.I read the posts and if at all i find that i should comment on something,i correspond with the concerned member directly rather than the list. But probably God wanted me to write on the list today for the cursor itself clicked accordingly.I did not then make the effort to click again since i thought it was a basic matter and let it go. Speaking of Mars as Lord of Vitality, please understand that by VITALITY, it is meant VIRILITY. But accepting Mars as lord of celebecy is rather far fetched idea for this Atman. Guest guest
It's interesting you say that Mars stands for virility. If that be the case, how can one explain why mars in the 5th is bad for having progeny? Thanks, - Jaischinnas <schinnas > wrote: Dear Visti,Lord Muruga who rules over Mars, is not a celebate. I understand that Vaishnavites use Hanuman as significator of Mars. However extrapolating from that association of Hanuman to say that Mars is significator of celebacy may not be correct.Your argument will have validity if you can quote some _direct_ references from BPHS and other classics which many agree upon. Extrapolating things from thin arguments is unconvincing. Afterall, taking =Mars for virility (in men's chart) works in practise! regards,-Siva. Friends. Fun. Guest guest
Dear Visti, I think Parashara says Mars is fickle minded (3.25), has Tamas as prakriti(3.22) and Aries Rasi is with rajo Guna. Again deity is Kartikeya also known as Muruga and he is certainly not a Brahmachari. Again second sign of Mars Scorpio represents sexual organs. So check up whether Mars has really to do anything with state of celibacy. Celibacy, by choice, certainly requires a lot of control over mind, certainly not the quality attributed to the warrior Mars. Per Parashara Venus is sama for Mars so why should he dislike Venus (if you mean that by referring to Libra)? Please also refer to Shloka 7, adhyaaya of BPHS. Parashara certainly does not say that Mars in 7th leads to celibacy in that shloka. Please correct me if I am wrong. Regards, Chandrashekhar. Guest guest
|Hare Rama Krsna| Dear Chandrashekhar, See my latest post. As you would agree (and you would as I'm using your words); "teaching a principle and applying it in charts are two separate things". I fully agree that Mars will not cause celibacy by his association with the 7th house; actually it’s a tainted Mars when involved with the karaka for celibacy, and usually these people become over-eager to explore their sexuality and at time this causes horrible situations. This is because the sexual restraint of Mars causes sexual tension and the native becomes very aggressive in their pursuit of satisfaction. This is one of the problems with Kuja Dosha. As for sexual organs, Scorpio represents the private parts... this is not the sexual organs but the anus, which is hidden and hence private - when ones mind is on sex then even private parts become sexual organs! Now I quote Guruji and again state; the 8th house indicates the Anus (it is private because it is hidden) whilst the 7th house shows the reproductive organs. Do we understand each other? Your statement which I have made in bold types is utterly uncalled for and crosses the boundaries of decency.Desist from such comments in future. They are not in good taste. As to what is 8th house, I wish some body takes pains to read BPHS Chapter 4 and Shloka3 and 4 before attributing something to Parashara.I would like to know what is your English translation of Sanskrit word Basti and Guhya that are said to be the body parts of Kalapurusha represented by Tula and Vrishchika rasi by the Venerated Sage. Perhaps I am not as good at English as others, but I do not think that Private parts does not refer to sexual organs.Perhaps some gentleman having good command over English language would like to comment. As for Deha-vivar, the hole you are reffering to, do I really need to teach anatomy on the list? Please check up the meaning of Navadwara. Regards, Chandrashekhar. Guest guest
Om Namo Narayanaya, Dear Chandrashekar, Remember the story from Shiv Puran, when Lord Shiva wanted to get his son Subramanya and Ganesha married. Ganesha outwitted Subramanya and made 3 circles around him, and was to first one to marry. Thus Ketu, lorded by Shri Ganesh, is a real karaka for Kuladevata and Upapada signifying marriage. On the other hand, Subramanya got so angry that he went to the mountains to practice tapas and did not even wish to see his parents. So Mars, ruled by Subramanya, is not a bechelor by choice, but due to his angry and rash temper. Remember that Mars rules marak houses from venus signs. I hope that it helps. Zoran Chandrashekhar wrote: Dear Visti,I think Parashara says Mars is fickle minded (3.25), has Tamas as prakriti(3.22) and Aries Rasi is with rajo Guna. Virility (not vitality) is a physical condition that enables people to copulate and produce the vital fluids for producing children. i.e. the main focus is the act of mating and the result. Now let us look at the natural zodiac; The natural zodiac has Aries as the Lagna, hence Mars lords the Lagna and rules the strength and energy of the human being. This is the Mülatrikoëa of Mars and hence Gemini, Virgo, Libra, Capricorn and Aquarius become the least-liked signs for Mars, as well as their lordships. Now if Mars does not like the function of Libra, how can he be interested in causing virility in man?Infact Mars lords the 8^th house which causes the break of marriage, and the end of mating. So through what logic can we say that Mars rules virility, when his main function is to break the marriage and end conjugal life? The foremost of Martian deities is Hanuman who was a pure celibate – following this example of the 8^th house.Infact when there is a mention of Mars being young, it refers to the Brahmacharya Varnashrama, in which the child is not able to mate in the first place. This is quoted from the teachings of Sanjay Rath.Hence in women’s charts, Mars’ placement also becomes important for seeing the break of celibacy (Mars) of the man and his turning into a husband – Jupiter, and then later a father – Sun. This breakage of celibacy is one of Bagalamba’s forms in Sré S hakti (Laxmi Shakti), but this must not be confused with Néla Sakti forms, where pure celibacy is the requirement and goal.Hope this clarifies things,Best wishes,*Visti Larsen*visti (AT) (DOT) org <visti (AT) (DOT) org> ------** asharm_ind [asharm_ind ]*Sent:* 13 June 2004 14:51*To:* vedic astrology*Subject:* [vedic astrology] Re: Mars.... is he really karaka for celebecy ? To Sjt.Visti LarsenHello Visti Larsen,You are right as far as your understanding which is based on Ancient scriptures is concerned. This being also has done some deep work on Astrology and formulated some path breaking original researches on nodes. (The research continues) Being of scientific inclination, this being has always relied on Modern scientific approach to solve esoteric problems and theories. If you had read carefully, you would have noticed the corelation of the arguments put forth by this being, with solid proof citing Periodic Table classifications .May be you should read complete work on this issue postulated by this being.Speaking of rulership of Asthi (Bones), it goes to Mercury as perundersigned's research.Speaking of Mars as Lord of Vitality, please understand that by VITALITY, it is meant VIRILITY.But accepting Mars as lord of celebecy is rather far fetched idea for this Atman. As children start producing VIRYA at the age of 15 or 16 (With sperms), there is no question of Mars helping out in Balarishta breaking. This is where only Jupiter, the lord of DHI can help. Also other natural benefics Mercury and Venus can help. You forgot to mention strong Moon and strong Sun helping to break Balarishta.Benefics predominate in early life and Natural malefics predominate in later life.(In terms of success to live and succeed).Liberty is being taken to post this reply with your mail. Hope you would not mind.Tatvam-Asi"Visti @ Denmark" <visti@s...> wrote:|Hare Rdma Keqka|Dear Hamsa, Namaskar.Where did you get these ideas from.Let me highlight one specific portion; He rules over muscles and Bones. Sun rules over Asthi Dhatu which is bones, whilst Saturn rules over Sndyu Dhatu which people have agreed is muscles.Mars rules over Majja Dhatu which is the nerves. This is what Sage Pdrdgara states. There is no mention of Vitamins..No you talked of vitality. With vitality and health two things will be noticeable; increased appetite for food and increased sexual appetite as well. This is known as Virya and is predominated by Venus this applies to both men and women. Venus also rules the Mrityunjaya Mantra and hence has the power to bring back life into people, or raise the dead just asSukracharya did.Now assume that Mars did indeed rule vitality, then why didnt Pdrdgara mention that Mars can break Bdlariqva Yogas? He only mentioned; Jupiter, Venus and Mercury.Best wishes,Visti Larsen<visti@s...> visti@s...._____nameisego [nameisego]12 June 2004 05:17vedic astrologySubject: [vedic astrology] Re: Mars.... is he really karaka for celebecy ? Dear Friends,I read with interest comments made by Sjt. VISTI about Mars which I quote as under,QUOTE,"Mars is the natural kdraka for CELIBECY(highlited), as he is awarrior and is required not to engage in such affairs, at least until 44 where the warrior can retire."UNQUOTEThis being has done some work on co-relating astrology with periodic table. And the findings on Mars as the lord of 5th group of thePeriodic Table are as follows.MARS A LORD OF 5th GROUP: In periodic tableWe know that Mars is the war lord.He is a Potent Male. He has a strong body.He rules over muscles and Bones. He has red eyes.Rules over red colour. Bismuth is a Reddish metal.Phosphorous is reddish. Without phosphorous, bones would be useless. Nitrogen belonging to 5th group is the basis of Amino Acids andother vital Amino compounds like Vitamins.Energy is Enclosed in ATP which is a Phospherous compound. Littleinformation from Net is as follows,ATP is Energy! For your muscles -- in fact, for every cell in your body -- thesource of energy that keeps everything going is called ATP. Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is the biochemical way to store and use energy. The entire reaction that turns ATP into energy is a bit complicated, but here is a good summary:Chemically, ATP is an adenine nucleotide bound to three phosphates. There is a lot of energy stored in the bond between the second andthird phosphate groups that can be used to fuel chemical reactions. When a cell needs energy, it breaks this bond to form adenosinediphosphate (ADP) and a free phosphate molecule. In some instances, the second phosphate group can also be broken to form adenosine monophosphate (AMP).When the cell has excess energy, it stores this energy by forming ATP from ADP and phosphate.ATP is required for the biochemical reactions involved in any muscle contraction. As the work of the muscle increases, more and more ATP gets consumed and must be replaced in order for the muscle to keepmoving.Because ATP is so important, the body has several different systems to create ATP. These systems work together in phases. The interesting thing is that different forms of exercise use different systems, so a sprinter is getting ATP in a completely different way from a marathon runner! Thus MARS is undisputed lord of Vitality.Arsenikom in Greek means POTENT or MALE..You will find Arsenic in 5th group.Outermost shell of Nitrogen and all the other elements has 3electrons.Hence Mars is also known as Trikona . This denotes that Power lies in A Triangle. This may be the reason for Tantra diagrams being based on TrianglesThis is also why Kartik the commander of Deva's army (Mars) hasTriangular Vel (LANCE) in his hand.Coming to original observation by Visti about Mars being Karaka for Celibecy is very new to this being.Tatvam_AsiArchives: vedic astrologyGroup info: vedic astrology/info.htmlTo UNSUBSCRIBE: Blank mail to vedic astrology- .|| Om Tat Sat || Sarvam Sri Krishnaarpanamastu ||_____Friends. Guest guest
Dear Zoran, I am glad you agree that Mars has nothing to do with celibacy by choice. Celibacy at least in Puranaic context is always reffered to when by choice. This is logical too, otherwise all below may be 12 and above 80 would be eulogised as the great Celibates. Another nice point you have made is about Mars's sign is an excellent observation. Their elements are anyway inimical to each other. It is also interesting to note that Mars gets exaltation in Saturn's Rasi who is yoga Karaka for Venusian signs. This is the reason Mars and Venus being opposite attract. Mars also represents Dambha and celibacy by choice is certainly not his domain. By the way, I am certain you have received my personal mail. Regards, Chandrashekhar. Guest guest
|Hare Rama Krsna| Dear Chandrashekhar and Narasimha, Namaskar The highlighted portion about people's minds was not meant for you, but all the other translators of the word Guhya in the classical books. I'm sorry if you took this phrase wrongly upon you. Now keep in mind that I did not come up with this idea - This is the explanation given to me by Guruji, here goes; Guhya means hidden and refers to those parts of the body which one cannot see - not those one should hide. If you stand up straight and look at the mirror the genitals will be perfectly visible, however the anus will not and is hidden by the buttocks. This is what is meant by hidden. Libra is the natural 7th house and deals with mating, and this being for the sake of producing children. Now I never said that Päräçara said this, I said my Guruji said this. Take it or leave it. As for celibacy, I have AGAIN quoted my Guruji. The rest is up to you. Monier Williams gives the following for Basti (vasti); lower belly , abdomen VarBr2S. Ka1s3i1Kh. the pelvis MW. To Sjt.Visti Larsen Dear Visti, You wrote" As for sexual organs, Scorpio represents the private parts... this is not the sexual organs but the anus, which is hidden and hence private -* when ones mind is on sex then even private parts become sexual organs!* Now I quote Guruji and again state; the 8th house indicates the Anus (it is private because it is hidden) whilst the 7th house shows the reproductive organs." Your statement which I have made in bold types is utterly uncalled for and crosses the boundaries of decency.Desist from such comments in future. Guest guest
|Hare Rama Krsna| Dear Chandrashekhar and Zoran, Soma, Shukracharya, Shiva, Brhaspati, Ganesa, all kept celibacy by choice in their Sadhanas. So that logic isn't working. - Even shukracharya kept celibacy - by choice! In the story of Subramanya, the focal point is that his marriage was denied - Kuja Dosha - otherwise he kept celibacy by choice as well during his sadhana. Hence this denial of conjugal life is the focal point. For males the 4 Varnashramas are as follows; Brahmacarya - Mars Grharsta Jupiter Varnaprasta Sun Sanyasa Rähu Source; Guruji's teachings - I believe he presented this in Puri as well. Hence whenever Mars is involved with the houses of marriage a conflict arises, because the Grharsta Varnashrama requires sex, which the Brahmacarya Varnashrama doesn't involve, and incase of vows - doesn't allow. This conflict is known as Kuja Dosha. When we talk of celibacy as a vow or choice, then we are referring to the act of renouncing Venus, not the addition of Martian traits. If you were under the impression that Mars makes one choose celibacy, then you have misunderstood what I was trying to say. 6th lord in 5th or 9th makes one pray to celibate forms of God and hence also pray for celibacy - whether consciously or not. Mars merely rules the age when there is celibacy, and that’s why the conflict arises. Hope this helps, Best wishes, Visti Larsen visti Chandrashekhar [boxdel] 15 June 2004 07:39 Zoran Radosavljevic Cc: vedic astrology Re: [vedic astrology] Re: Mars.... is he really karaka for celebecy ? To Sjt.Visti Larsen Dear Zoran, I am glad you agree that Mars has nothing to do with celibacy by choice. Guest guest
Dear Visti, I have already forgotten what has happened. The remarks, even if for some body else are not in good taste. An astrologer has to observe certain restrictions. I am certain that with time you will understand what I mean by this. You must have seen Narasimha's mail by now and understood what scorpio represents. See what the dictionary you are reffering to has to say about Guhya below. " the pudenda Sus3r. VarBr2S. Katha1s. ii , 56 (cf. 1. %{gR4hya}) the anus W." I trust you will understand the meaning. Perhaps Sanjay had told what he did in some other context. He is too knowledgeable not to understand what all classics have to say, including Parashara. You may seek his opinion on what I have said. Chandrashekhar.
