Guest guest
Namaste friends, Tomorrow (Sunday, 22nd May 2004) will be the third Jyotish class in greater Boston. The classes are free and open to everyone who believes in God in some form or the other and respects the teachings of maharshis. I am starting from scratch and teaching the little I know. The last two classes were very introductory and we basically went thru philosophical foundations. We looked at the natures of planets etc. We looked at the association of planets with Vishnu's incarnations as taught by Parasara and explained the associations. For example, take Vamana and Jupiter. Each of us is a microcosmic representation of Narayana (The Supracosmic Person) and the entire universe has a micro-replica within us. Jupiter, the teacher of gods, manifests in each of us as the intelligence, wisdom and discretion. He teaches and promotes the gods (various good qualities) within us. Emperor Bali, who was a demon king known for his generosity, is the proud generosity within us. When we are generous and are proud about it, we are internally going thru the reign of Bali. Vishnu was born as Vamana, a very learned dwarf, and ended Bali's reign. Similarly, when humility (Vamana, the learned dwarf!) is born within us, the reign of Bali (proud generosity) ends within us. As humility is a form of intelligence, wisdom and discretion, Vishnu's incarnation of Vamana has Jupiter's energy. Similarly, we looked at other incarnations like Koorma, Parasurama, Varaha etc and understood the metaphorical meanings of the stories and the associations of incarnations with planets. >From tomorrow's class, the real astrology will begin. We will be learning houses, aspects etc. Those of you who live near Boston and want to learn astrology from the beginning may want to consider attending the classes. If you want to come, start from tomorrow. It will be difficult to catch up if you join later. The classes are 9 am - 11 am at: Sadhu Vaswani Center1827 Bridge StDracut, MA My cell phone number is (508) 963-6273. May Jupiter's light shine on us, Narasimha
