An easiest part for any astrologer to do is performing post-mortem and reason

out what led for transpiring of events and incidents. Equally and oppositely

With taking birth details of Mrs. Sonia Rajeev Gandhi as:

 

December 9th, 1946, 21-40 Hrs, at Torino, Italy (45N03, 07E40, TZ: 01-00Hrs),

one would arrive at Cancer ascendant and Gemini Moon sign.

 

Over the period of time, my observation has been that, Cancer ascendant

personalities find it easier to gain political power (and hard at deriving

blissful married life) in general. Few among many supporting factors for this

could be:

Mars and Sun owning important houses, which play vital role in attaining

authoritative power for any nativity.
