Guest guest
Namaste Sri Raman, > Following is Dr. Raman's Chart.> > I would invite scholars to discuss about the longevity aspect.> > Om Tat Sat,> > Raman Suprajarama The data I use is slightly different from what was given by Dr. Raman himself: August 8, 1912, 19:38:00 (IST), 77 E 35' 00", 12 N 59' 00" I use an ayanamsa close to Chitrapaksha ayanamsa. If one makes the chart as I do, lagna should be in in Mridvamsa in shashtyamsa (D-60), in Leo. Mercury should be in 4th, Venus and Jupiter in 5th and lagna lord Sun exalted in 9th, resulting in a brilliant Saraswati yoga in shashtyamsa. While rasi chart shows the physical existence and various divisional charts show various environments under which one exists (navamsa: dharmik environment, dasamsa: professional environment, vimsamsa: spiritual environment, chaturvimsamsa: educational environment etc), shashtyamsa shows the sanchita karma that must be experienced in one's lifetime. Physical existence shown by rasi chart and various environments shown by other divisional charts are merely the medium through which this karma is experienced. It is for this reason that Parasara said when listing the matters to be seen in various divisional charts that all matters should be seen in shashtyamsa (shashtyamsekhilameekhayet). It is also for this reason that shahtyamsa has a high weight in vimsopaka bala of dasa varga than rasi and navamsa together! Shashtyamsa shows the sanchita karma that one has to experience. In Dr. Raman's D-60, 2nd lord Mercury in 4th in Kshiteesaamsa (kshiteesa=king) shows great recognition (kshiteesaamsa) for astrological (2nd/Mercury) learning (4th/Mercury). The same Mercury is taking part in Saraswati yoga. If one makes Moola dasa described by Varahamihira and Kalyana Verma, one will see that Mercury dasa ran during 1920-1937. It was a period of great learning. The 10th lord Venus in 5th with 5th lord Jupiter gave fame in astrology during his dasa (1929-1947). Especially, Venus-Jupiter antardasa (1936-1939) must've been important for fame (due to raja yoga). Thus, the sanchita karma to be experienced is shown in D-60 and it is the most important chart. Other charts show the medium through which this karma is experienced. Moola dasa shows the root cause of whatever happens in one's life and it can be analyzed using D-60. Anyway, I am digressing. I wanted to point out why I had to slightly alter the birthdata given by Dr. Raman himself. I have my reasons, based on shashtyamsa rectification. Now, I will use this data to quickly answer your question. I will use the principle of three pairs given by Jaimini Maharshi. We take (1) lagna lord and 8th lord (2) Moon and Saturn, (3) lagna and horalagna. Saturn is the 8th lord (Cp is the 8th from Aq using the table of Yavanacharya). Lagna lord is taken to be Rahu instead of Saturn. Thus, lagna lord is in a dual sign and 8th lord in fixed. Dual+fixed and movable+movable give long life. So the first pair shows long life. Moon and Saturn are both in a fixed sign. Fixed+fixed or movable+dual pairs show short life. So the second pair shows short life. Lagna is in a fixed sign and horalagna in Virgo is in a dual sign. Again the pair shows long life. Two pairs show long life and one pair shows short life. Thus the majority goes to "long life". This is a long life chart, i.e. 72-108 years. If we use the Shoola dasa of 9x12=108 years, the last khanda (the last 4 signs) give death. Uniform Shoola dasa starts from Leo, as it is strong than lagna. It goes one sign in every 9 years. The last khanda is Ar-Cn. Out of these, Taurus contains Arudha Lagna. Thus, Taurus gives death (death occurs when Shoola comes to a trine from AL). So death occurs in Taurus shoola dasa, i.e. age of 81-90. Taking Taurus as lagna, Sagittarius is the 8th house from it and its lord is in 7th from Taurus. Sg is 8th from AL too. Thus Sg antardasa is a good candidate. Shoola dasa (troubles and death): Ta MD: 1993-08-09 (13:46:59) - 2002-08-09 (21:01:52) Antardasas in this MD: Ta: 1993-08-09 (13:46:59) - 1994-05-07 (19:10:42) Ge: 1994-05-07 (19:10:42) - 1995-02-06 (6:44:48) Cn: 1995-02-06 (6:44:48) - 1995-11-09 (21:47:02) Le: 1995-11-09 (21:47:02) - 1996-08-09 (8:14:48) Vi: 1996-08-09 (8:14:48) - 1997-05-07 (13:31:52) Li: 1997-05-07 (13:31:52) - 1998-02-06 (1:22:16) Sc: 1998-02-06 (1:22:16) - 1998-11-09 (16:13:14) Sg: 1998-11-09 (16:13:14) - 1999-08-10 (2:35:53) Cp: 1999-08-10 (2:35:53) - 2000-05-07 (7:58:47) Aq: 2000-05-07 (7:58:47) - 2001-02-05 (19:49:54) Pi: 2001-02-05 (19:49:54) - 2001-11-09 (10:38:05) Ar: 2001-11-09 (10:38:05) - 2002-08-09 (21:01:52) Of course, there is more to it. The dasa pravesha chakra (DPC=period commencement chart) of Taurus shoola dasa has Scorpio rising and 7th lord Venus in 8th. No wonder this Shoola dasa was fatal. Moreover, D-30 (Parasari Trimsamsa) of this DPC has Jupiter in Pisces lagna afflicted by nodes. All these factors made the dasa fatal. So many things go together to make an event. Depending on the level of our knowledge, we can see some of those factors. Great maharshis knew many more factors than we do. We should try to grasp their teachings rather than question or dismiss them. The maraka of DPC is Venus (7th lord in 8th). In D-30, he was in Sg. So it was Sg antardasa. Luckily, we can cast DPC accurately and use it in rasi dasas, unlike in nakshatra dasas where the dasa sesham is not known accurately. There are many other ayur dasas given by Maharshis. For example, Yogardha dasa of Leo brought death. Leo is the 7th house containing 3rd and 8th lords and is clearly a maraka house. Even as per Vimsottari dasa, Venus-Venus antardasa was running. Venus is in 7th. A strong case comes if you use the Adhana Vimsottari dasa. Rahu antardadsa in Mercury dasa was running during Dec 1997 to July 2000. Mercury is the 8th lord in 7th and the strongest maraka (along with Mars, who is the 3rd lord in 7th). Rahu is a malefic in 2nd. According to Parasara, 2nd house is a stronger maraka sthana than 7th. Finally, Yogini dasa is a very giood ayur dasa. Though some scholars use Yogini dasa for all purposes, it is appropriate for seeing death and some other evils given by Yoginis. Mars-Mercury antardasa ran during Nov 1998-June 1999. Of course, there are many techniques other than transits. I'll give two more examples before going to sleep: (1) Progressions: There are progressions based on various divisional charts. Some Bhrigu scholars use 3 deg per year porogression, which is based on dasamsa. In western astrology, they always use 1 deg per year progression. This is the trimsamsa based progression and useful only for timing evils. If you use 1 deg per year progression, you will see that Sun was near 20 deg Li at the time of death. In the natal chart, mrityu sahamam is around 23 deg in Li. When progressed Sun comes within 3-4 deg from important points, they are activated. Mrityu sahamam shows death. (2) Annual Tithi Pravesha chakra data is: 19th July 1998, 4:16:46 am (IST). In this chart, Jupiter is the 7th lord and occupies the 8th from AL. He is the lord of the 64th navamsa too. Mor5eover, he has a close trinal aspect on mrityu sahamam. While the 7th lord is strong and afflicted, the 8th lord Saturn is debilitated and in his mrityu bhaga degree (the 10th degree in Aries is the death-inflicting or mrityu bhaga degree for Saturn). Thus, Tithi Ashtottari dasa of Jupiter (19 Nov 1998 to 25 Jan 1999) and Saturn's lagna Vimsottari dasa (1 Nov-31 Dec 1998) proved fatal. More than being the 8th lord, Saturn was the weekday lord too (note: weekday changes at sunrise). Out of the five elements of panchanga, vaara or weekday shows the agni tattva (fiery element) and shows physical strength. If the vaara lord is weak in a year's annual TPC, there can be health problems or death. Here, Saturn is vaara lord and 8th lord and he is debilitated and in mrityu bhaga. The case is clear. Ok, that will be my two cents. I have to sleep now. Good nigth all of you! I will post on elections tomorrow. May Jupiter's light shine on us,Narasimha
