Ishta Devata-Query

Dear Sameer,

 

i am not any authority, but let me tell you my understanding of atma karaka &

ishta devata etc.,

 

AK planet represents the individual soul and Ishta devata is that form of God,

whose worship will grant moksha for the individual.

 

Now, cutting out the philosophical part, the sign occupied by the AK in the

Navamsa is called as Karakamsa. The planet having strongest influence on the

12th from Karakamsa represents that form of God, who will grant moksha (from

the cycles of rebirth).

 

Normally, strongest planet in the house is taken or when the house is empty its

lord is taken. Rasi aspects are considered, but that is left to expert

astrologers.The forms (Vishnu avataras) are given by Parasara for all the 9

planets in BPHS.

 

Couple of exceptions: For Mercury, Balabhadra is worshipped and for Venus,

Goddess form is worshipped. It could be any one of the three consorts of Sri

Krishna: Rukmini, Satyabhama or Radha, based on whether Venus is located in

Satwa, Rajo or Tama guna signs in the Navamsa.

 

Of the three forms of worship in Hinduism, Shakti is the mother who protects us,

Shiva gives us the knowledge and Vishnu grants us moksha.

 

Now this depends on one's faith.

 

According to the above, your Ishta devata is VamanaAvatara.

You have Kala Amrita Yoga. What do you think of it? How is your Ketu period so far?

Dear Sh Viswanadham,

 

Thanks for clear cut and precise explanation. I even went through the

article on the same by Mr Sanjay Rath ji as pointed out by Mr Sunil

in his earlier post.

 

My AK Me is posted in Cp in Nav, 12th from it is Sg which doesnt have

any planet. So does Ju the lord of Sg represents my Ishta Devata or

do we have to consider rasi aspects too ?

 

You mentioned my Ishta Devata as VamanaAvatara where and how can I

worship that ?

 

I am not sure whether its KalSarpa or KalAmrita Yoga but Ketu period

along with ongoing sade-sati for me has been very stressful at times.

One thing which I have noticed is that I have again started showing

interest in vedic literature and spirituality as such. I have seen

some progress on the career front though.

 

What can I expect during the upcoming bhuktis of Sun,Moon,Mars and

especially Rahu ?
