Ishta Devata-Query

Respected Gurus,

 

How does one find out one's Ishta Devata from a birth chart ? Is there any

special

significance attached with worshipping ones Ishta Devata than God in any

other form ?

 

Can someone show me how to work out this with my chart as an example ?

 

My birth details are :

 

Jul 27,1976

Time: 6:25AM Zone: 5:30 DST: 0

Chandigarh

Longitude: 76E44 Latitude: 30N44

Dear Sameer,

I am sure some of the senior members in the list would reply to your

query, just a suggestion, there is a file on Ishta Devata in the

files section, meanwhile u can go through that and be better equipped

when the Gurus reply.

 

I could be wrong here, but check which planet is ur Atmakaraka ( the

planet with the highest degree), in the JHL software it would called

AK.

 

See the position of this planet the AK in the navamsa and the 12th

from this position is from where Ista Devata is seen. If for eg ur AK

is posited in Sagi in ur D9, then 12th from it would be Scorpio who

lord is Mars and so ur Ishta Devata would be Hanuman or Kartikeyaa

or Chamundi Devi. Some say to worship Hanuman properly one needs to

be celibate so i would leave the Gurus to correct me n guide u.

 

I stand to be corrected, didnt have software here to open ur chart as

i am writing from cafe, but i am sure Gurus would help you out with

more detailed reply.
