Guest guest
*Sent to this newsgroup as per Mr. Hari's email.* -------------------------------- ||Om Brihaspataye Namah|| Namaste Lata, If I may be allowed to interrupt here, Yes, the case of two or more siblings or parent and sibling having the same janma nakshatra is called nakshatra dosha. I am not sure if this nakshatra dosha applies across three generations (eg: grandparent and grandchild having the same janma nakshatra). My guess is that nakshatra dosha applies only to the people in the immediate family. As for the remedies, I think that they should be done at the time of birth of the second janma nakshatra person and am not sure if they can be done much later. As for the remedy, here is what Maharishi Parasara has suggested: "Ch. 89. Remedies from Nakshatra Birth 1-7. The Sage Parasara said. O Maitreya! If the birth takes place in the Nakshatras of the brother and the parents, death takes place, without doubt, of the brother and the father, or mother, or they have to undergo death-like suffering. Therefore I am going to describe the remedial measures to be adopted to escape from these evil effects. The remedial rites should be performed in a Muhurta, when Candr and stars are favourable on a day, on which there is no Rikta-Bhadra Dosha. The remedial rites should be performed in the following order. Instal an idol of the Janma Nakshatra on a Kalash in the North-East direction from the fire. Cover it with a red piece of cloth and then warp two pieces of cloth round it. Worship the idol by chanting the Mantras of the Janm Nakshatra. According to one's Gotra, perform Havan 108 times with the recitation of the same Mantra, facing the fire, with Ghee and other Havan material. Then the priest, performing the Puja, should sprinkle water on the parents and brother (whoever is concerned). Give presents in cash (Dakshina) to the priest and his colleagues, associated with the ceremony, to the best of one's means and then feed the Brahmins to the best of one's means." Note the emphasis on restriction to two generations and male side of the family. It also answers your questions. The learned scholars and Jyotishas are requested to kindly comment on the modern version of the remedy followed, applicability to female side of the family as well as the meaning of Rikta-Bhadra dosha mentioned above. My observation is that the second person participating in the nakshatra dosha invariably suffers when compared to the first. Is this true in your family also? IAC, Swati is such a good nakshatra from the muhurta point of view so please give your observations with regard to nakshatra dosha! regards Hari vedic astrology, "Lata Walsh" <latawalsh> wrote: > Dear Gauranga, > > Thanks for the file. > > I was not aware that multiple members of the family having the same > Nakshatr is bad.
