Guest guest
Dear Sundeep & All: I loved your many good points here. You describe very well how we can look at Jyotish, in a simple, yes, scientific way. I'd also like to respond to your clock analogy. I do understand that the Planets or Stars, themselves may not be the causality of either how we are of what we're feeling or do. But, take the Moon for example. Jyotish believes that the Moon is one of the most important Astrological influences, and it's influences are certainly, causal. The Sun, too, though billions of miles away has very real and powerful causal results. These two Jyotish configurations, having Causal results...makes me lean towards a causal link. I love, especially the Astronomical pictures of whole Galaxies that are caught in a great Cosmic web of causal forces. Though the individual stars may be hundreads and thousands of light-years! away. I think that Jyotish is both a science of causal effect and one of symbolic effect. The fact that the symbolisms of Jyotish fit us, doesn't necessarily mean that we're effected by those Galactic forces. They may just give expression to 'what' we are, being born. But the truth is that the wisdom of these symbolisms does fit us and that's the most important thing. Then, the fact, that this wisdom gives us greater insight into who and what we are is really the point. And then, especially, then, using that knowledge to grow, to improve ourselvces, become better human beings and evolve... now, that' the real purpose of Jyotish. The rest is just interesting, gravy! Fun converstions... Jai Guru! Mark Kincaid PS....for those of you who haven't heard, I also write a Jyotish newsletter. It includes a daily, Transits newsletter as well as other aspects of Jyotish knowledge. If you, or anyone else in this group is interested, in subscribing, feel free to contact me personally at: m.kincaid And the newsletter is free. > "vedicastrostudent" <vedicastrostudent > Wed, 11 Feb 2004 21:15:05 -0000 > vedic astrology > [vedic astrology] To Siva: Re: moksha & Everything... > > Siva, > I am forced to comment on one statement of yours, because I see > people misinterpreting this all the time.
