Guest guest
Dear All: I think reflecting on how Jyotish works is not only valid, but also very interesting. But, it's a lot like asking how does Karma get calculated by the Universe and sent back to us in just the right, exact timings. Jyotish is just the wisdom of this reality of Karma. Western science is beginning to catch up with this ancient Vedic wisdom. Though historically, in the West, we used to believe in.... 'As you sow, so shall you reap.' Nowadays, Modern Psychics has a new expression...'For every action, there's an equal and opposite re-action.' And though this expression is only applied to physical objects like molecules and atoms, but hopefully, someday, someone's going to figure out how this physical law, also applys to Psychology and human beings, as well. Fortunately, there is Jyotish which understands all the ways in which the Universe works, how souls, individuals being born at any given time, will in fact...have particular and precise human 'astrological' natures, and personalities. We can also tell from someone's Jyotish chart, what their human chacteristics and tendencies will be and what their strengths and weaknesses will be. This knowledge holds great hope for so many different areas of Life. Look at modern Genetics, today, that has the high hope at being able to understand someday, how our genetic code, which is responsible for each and every aspect of ourselves,...can in fact, be changed and improved. Jyotish, is indeed, Cosmic... dna, Genetics. It's ancient, but it does contain the wisdom of what our genetics will be like. We can tell from someone's chart who will be predisposed to cancer, and who heart disease. It's all there in someone's charts.... And any kind of 'healthy' skepticism is okay, as long as it doesn't negate a willingness to be open to the possibilities. What we need to do is conduct more and more scientific research and demonstrate the authenticity of this wisdom and demonstrate it's powers. Maybe there is some Vedic wisdom somewhere that trys to describe how or why the laws of nature are the way they are. But, in modern science there has been a healthy debate about those rules, or theorems and eventually what got to be considered a law of nature, only occured after much discussion and close examination. Personally, I think that's one of the reasons why God created a scientific age so we could grow in the real appreciation of the truthful knowledges of life. It's not true that the World is flat. It used to be believed, true, but nowadays, no one of any intellectual worth, believes in such things. We need to look at Jyotish this way, that it just might hold some wonderful and powerful insights into the nature of human existence and our place, position and role in human civilization and life. Personally, I also believe that Jyotish is ultimately a path of Enlightenment and also a path of Self-Realization. We have this story in the West about how 3 wise men followed a star to the stable where a small child was being born. And these wise men, some kings, even followed the advice of their astrologers how to follow this star to find the Lord of the universe, being born in a stable. Like that, I believe that Jyotish is about the meaning of human life, why each one of us has incarnated on this Earth. My personal experience shows that each and every person that I've done their charts, literally fits them! This itself is a wild and fascinating concept that there is some readily easy knowledge that might be able to help us understand ourselves better. I used to be a Philosophy and Education major in college and I never found any knowledge that so, exactly and precisely,.... is able to perceive into the nature and details of a person's life,... like Jyotish. And Jyotish isn't a belief or religion. It's a systemic body of knowledge that doesn't demand belief only inquisitiveness and openess to understand. take care, all.... Sincerely, Mark Kincaid PS....for those of you who haven't heard, I also write a Jyotish newsletter. It includes a daily, Transits newsletter as well as other aspects of Jyotish knowledge.
