Guest guest
Respected Vedic-Astrologers, I have enrolled myself as a member of the Vedic –Astrology @ . Com on 14th December 2003. Ever since my enrollment, I come across various posts with a mention about Aathana Lagna / Gharbhadaana Lagna that this is to be considered as the ASCENDENT for natal charts. Kindly elucidate that where and in which part of the Parasara’s sambhashana with Maitreya, the above practice is advocated. My Gurus taught me the following, under Yugabeda Athyaya: ‘ IN KRAETHA YUGA AATHANA LAGNA TO BE RECKONED AS BIRTH, IN THRAETHA YUGA THE LAGNA OF THE FIRST SIGHT OF PREGNANCY IS TO BE RECKONED AS BIRTH, IN DRAUPADA YUGA THE LAGNA OF THE PHYSICAL APPEARANCE OF BIRH IS TO RECKONED AS BIRTH, IN KALI YUGA THE LAGNA WHEN THE NEW BORN TOUCHES THE EARTH / DHARTHI IS TO BE TREATED AS BIRTH. Now I am under dilemma which one has to be treated as correct and followed. Under the above circumstances, I request that my doubts may please be cleared. With regards, D. Sathiyanarayana Gupta.
