Dear List,

What I have taken from YavanJataka on 'Sani Gochar' pretends to be

complex and mind boggling, but if connect it with AshtakaVarga then

the transit analysis become easy and comprehensible.

In Ashtakavaraga, Sages provided a technique called, Kakshya and

Prastaara Ashtakavarga. This needs to divide a sign into eight equal

segments each of 3*45'. Every Kakshya(i.e. orbit or sub path) is

ruled over a planet.(the Kakshya lordship of Grahas is a/c to their

speed in ascending order)

-------

No. Kakshya Range Kakshya Lord

-------

1st 00*00' to 03*45' Saturn

2nd 03*45' to 07*30' Jupiter

3rd 07*30' to 11*15' Mars

4th 11*15' to 15*00' Sun

5th 15*00' to 18*45' Venus

6th 18*45' to 22*30' Mercury

7th 22*30' to 26*15' Moon

8th 26*15' to 30*00' Lagna

-------

This principle is useful specially, for slow-moving planets like

Saturn and Jupiter, because they spend year(s) in a sign and result

in significant changes in our lives. Determine movement of planet in

Kakshya and consider transit with respect to natal position of

planet-who is the Kakshya lord of transiting planet. That is if a

transiting planet is between 0* to 3*45' then take natal Saturn as

reference point; between 3*45' to 7*30' then take natal Jupiter as

reference point; and so on upto 26*15' to 30*00' for natal Lagna as

reference.

Assume, Saturn as an example, now-a-days it is moving into Gemini.

First find the transit of Saturn in eight Kakshya of Gemini. (Anil's

VBA program "Event-Dasha-Transit" computes planetary movement along

with Kakshya lord in the 'Ephemeris' page)

Saturn entered (retrograde) into 4th Kakshya(11*15' to 15*00') of

Gemini on 11-Jan-2004 and will remain till 1-May-2004. The 4th

Kakshay is lorded by Sun. Now, during this period, the effect of

Saturn's transit will be pronounced with respect to natal Sun.

We see, the natal Sun is into Cancer, and at present (11-Jan-2004 to

1-May-2004) the Saturn is transiting into Sun's Kakshya. Therefore

the Shani will yield gochar phala with respect to Sun's natal

position, here Gemini falls 12th from Cancer(natal Sun's placement)

The results of Saturn's movement 12th from natal Sun is given

as "loss of employment(karma)". The fact is Pakistan is facing

charge of Nuclear technology trasformation to Iran and Libya.

Agencies has been investigted, and yesterday, the famous atomic

scientist and creator of Pakistan's Atom Bomb, Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan

admitted the charge and was dismissed from his all-in-all post. The

govt has to face opposition from political parties and critisim from

media. This is a tough time to Govt(note the natural Karaka Sun).

Now apart from it, we generally take, Natal Moon as reference point

to judge gochar phala. Whatever be the transit effect w.r.t. Moon

remains to all Kakshya i.e. whole sign, because Moon is mana-the

decision maker of our toughts and actions.

Some important predicting techniques.

* The transit effect w.r.t to natal Moon dominates over all

reference points (though Ascendant as reference point is preferred

for mundane charts). The Kakshya technique is used to get detailed

analysis.

* The transit effect w.r.t to Karaka specifically good or bad for

the matters ruled by Karaka. e.g. if a planet say Jupiter is good

w.r.t. natal Venus then it brigns forth marriage or prosper spouse.

* The transit effet w.r.t. to Dasa/Bhukti amplify the good/bad

result. e.g. Dasa of Sun is operating, and if Mars is moving into

Sun's Kakshya then good/bad phala of Sun's dasha is ampified because

transits works as catalyst of DASA/BHUKTI. Similarly Dasa/Bhukti

lord's transit w.r.t own natal position often gives pronounced

effect.

* The transit effect w.r.t. Lagna Lord(Paka Lagna) and Lagna lead to

physical manifestination of gochar phala.

Hope the above example may prove helpful in understanding transit.

Regards

M.IMRAN

Dear Imran

Once again I appreciate your efforts and concentration...Now after

doing some investigation on my own personal history I find that your

technique of combining YavanJataka predictions with AshtakaVarga are

a unique experiment in itself. I had mixed results..I found that when

employment issues are concerned than transit of Shani with respect to

Sun as Natural karaka for employment does work fine, but in other

cases when applying the natural movement of shani trough various

signs and Kakshaya Ranges(as per your technique) does not work

exactly in all cases, when combining both Kakshaya Ranges, Kakshaya

Lord and Yavan Jataka's predictions i.e., I did not face any

dangerous results during an offensive transit of Shani w.r.t. natal

Venus…

Anyway you have mentioned that transits w.r.t. natal moon take

precedence over kakshaya technique and transits w.r.t. karakas should

also be considered…so I am still investigating…Employment issues do

work out in certain kakshaya ranges when compared w.r.t natal Sun.

I will like to know what YavanJataka says for Jupiter transits, if

you have time for them and if its convenient to you or whenever

convenient for you..May be we can complete the missing things when we

combine Jupiter transits with Saturn transits and then related them

to Antar-dasas…so still getting there…

Thanks and Regards
