Hi Jay, Thanks for the puzzle..I does make for good practice.. My 2paise worth attempt at solving this... Using PVR's book and Narayan Dasa and finding Narayan Dasa of D-16 Ar (12 years) May-76 to May 88 Ta (05 years) May-88 to May 93 Ge (07 years) May-93 to May 00 (At end of this dasa age is 24) Cn (06 years) May-00 to May 06 Between Cn and Ge, Cn seems more likely for buying a car since: Cn is 4th from As, and A4 Cn has Aspect from Mars which is lord of A4 and Asc Cn has Angrala from Ve (convier of vehicles) Cn is Aspected by Me,Mo and Al. Ge has Sa (Lord of Al) but also lord of A8 and is not connected with Ve or Ma (Lord of As/A4) Finally since you have bought a car (and not a bike) I am assuming that this happened after you are 24 years old.. In Cn, the Antardasas Ge May-00 to Nov-00 Cn Nov-00 to May-01 Le May-01 to Nov-01 Vi Nov-01 to May-02 Li May-02 to Nov-02 Sc Nov-02 to May-03 Sg May-03 to Nov-03 Cp Nov-03 to May-04 (Current time) Now Ge we have discussed and is not so good. Cn is great as we have already discussed Le is ok (5th from As/A4, Lord Exalted with Ma) but 8th from AL, has A3, and Aspected by Ke/Ra Vi is not good 9th from AL, with lord with Al, but 6th from As/A4/Ma and is 12th from Ve Li is again good as it has Ve, Ascpected by Ma/A4 Angrala from Me/Mo (Mo is 4th Lord) Is 7th from A4. Sc is ok 7th from As/Ma/A4. Has Ve, Angrala from Me/Mo. Has Gl..10th from AL but 8th from As/Ma/A4 Sg is ok with 9th from As/A4/Ma but is 12th from Al and has Sa ascpect. So it comes down to a contest between Cn-Li and Cn-Cn. So I would pick Cn-Cn (Nov-00, May-2001) as my best guess only because the times match one of your options..which is your second option of Ven-Ven-Mer..(Oct-00 to Mar-01) Why Cn-Cn is better than Cn-Li I dont know (Maybee Angrala of Ve is better than having Ve in the dasa house). To start off, here is one if any of you would like to attempt. It's my own chart May-7-1976, Time: 02:15am, Place: Bangalore (77E35, 12N59, 5hrs30min East of GMT). When was it most likely that i bought a car and the color - for the extra point. 1) Was it during the vimsottari dasha (started from moon - as i have 7 planets in kendras to moon) of Ket->Ven->Mer and the color was (metallic blue, black or metallic green) tamasik planets are duller colors, i guess rajasik planets put the sheen along with their color (like ven-blue, mer-green, and sattvic planets are just u know too good to have any color - j/k..actually i think jupiter is golden/yellow/brow, sun is golden/orange perhaps, and argalas are important here i believe as well) 2) Ven->Ven->Mer and the color was (metallic black, metallic green, or metallic silver) 3) Ven->Sun->Mer and the color was (metallic green, white or yellow). Anyway, Kwool_rat you have solved it correctly and it was an excellent analysis. It was indeed during Ven->Ven->Mer that i bought a metallic silver colored car (sometime in nov) (maybe Cn->Cn had something to do with the color as it is of the moon/water). Pretty amazing. Mars, Moon & Mercury govern red, white silk respectively.
