Guest guest
Dear Saifumar: I'm sure there's a place for fighting the important battles. But, I don't know if fighting to keep the word, 'brahmin' save, is one of them. I know how you feel, but maybe you could look at it another way. Maybe consider this a good thing, in fact, maybe more representative... of the fact that Brahman is beginning to be more in the national or international consciousness. And besides, everyone's going to know it's an unusual name, and will wonder, where does this name come from. Maybe instead get on the net and create a website all about Brahmin or Brahman... and in explaining it all....they'll come to think....of that... each time they pick up their bags with a similar name... Someone said one time, 'that what you put attention on grows stronger in your life....' So, maybe people haveing the word brahmin circulating in their brain.... will be actually a good thing... and help...all...to move towards....brahman! Just an idea.... Sincerely, Mark Kincaid PS....I don't know if you've heard, but I also write a Jyotish newsletter. It's includes a daily, Transits newsletter as well as others that cover other aspects of Jyotish as well. If you, or anyone else in this group is interested, feel free to contact me to . I think this violation of the holy name of this subsect of Hinduism should be condemned. I am trying to find means and ways to communicate to the company for using that word. For me, I think it is my dharma to protect my religion and its constituents. I am more afraid becuase if tomorrow that becomes a big brand, the westerners would identify it with bags rather than what it actually stands for, as we know how little general knowledge the Westerners possess about the outside world. Help me to think rationally and let me know if you think I am acting in a reactionary manner rather than thinking logically. And if anyone has any suggestions about how I/or we(whoever is ready to join me in this battle) communicate to the company, please feel free to write back to me Let me know what you think.
