The person to be contacted in Thirupullani is Mr. V.V.Sri Rama Iyengar who is a Vathiyar. He does most of the santhi parikaram and sarpashanti and thila homam.

If you can confirm the program with him on the previous day of your visit, he makes all the arrangements for food also through a lady called Andal. There is also a Ahobilam Mutt and Prakala Mutt in Thirupullani too which provides good board and lodging facilities. Prior intimation to them will enable them to make all arrangements.

I visited the Thirupullani Divyadesam along with my parents. We reached Ramnad on Saturday morning and from there, one can commute either by Bus or an Auto, but please be beware of Autos as they may flease a major chunk. One can reach Thirupullani from Ramnad which takes about 14 kms. You can contact Mr. Shriram Iyengar of Thirupullani who will plan the trip very successfully. He arranged for food for us from a lady ( the only place where food is available ) called Andal near his house. He asked us to keep our belongings in his house and then take a Vizhippu snanam in the theppakulam. After that, you can arrange for an auto and also take Mr. Shriram Iyengar to the Sethu Samudhram. He will do a sankalpam for the whole family and then ask you to take 12 holy dips in the sethu sea. After that, there are lot of change rooms. There is a beautiful srinivasa perumal temple near the sea. After visiting the temple, you can come back in the auto to Thirupullani and visit the Adhi Jagannatha Perumal temple. The paal thirukannamudhu is very famous here. You need to ask the Archakar there for it.

 

In case, u want to cover Rameshwaram, u can take a bus to Ramnad and another bus to Rameshwaram. Or you can also cover the divyadesams in Madurai. They are Kallazhagar, Koodalazhagar, THirumogur, THirukoshtiyur, Thirmeyyam.

 

We came back to Madurai after our Ramnad visit and covered Kallazhagar and koodalazhagar.

The next day, we left from Madurai ( from Maatuthaavani bus stand ) to Srivilliputhur and had darshan of Andal and Vadabadhrasayee perumal. From there, we took another bus and then went to the Thiruthankaal temple ( a very beautiful temple ). In Madurai, instead of staying in the hotel, one can chose to stay in Bangur Dharamshala, a very neat and hygienic place owned by Jains. It is just diagonally opposite to Railway station.

Thiruppullani.And actually for this purpose adiyen is on the job of

constructing a website to help the pilgrims.which may be ready and hosted

next week. In the meanwhile, shall I add a few words on the notes of

Prasanna Soundararajan.

 

What has been told on Srirama Iyengar, our family bruhaspathi, is

totally correct. He will take all the care of the visitors. At the age of 83

he is still "young".

and just for information, there are few other bruhaspathis also

about whom a detailed note will appear on my site.

To stay at Thiruppullani, Ahobila mutt (the first to come here 75

years ago) and Vanamamalai Mutt are available. Both are convenient for a

day's stay here. Andavan Ashram is to be constructed soon on 13000

sq.feetjust adjacent to Ahobila Mutt. Prasanna should have meant only

Vanamamalai

Mutt (There is no Parakala Mutt here )Besides Smt Andal who is servicing the

pilgrims on accepting a smaal contribution, those vaidheekas who shun taking

food outside can avail of the thathyonna prasatham offered at Srimad Andavan

Ashramam Desikan Sannathi.
