Plants which are used for medicinal purposes are removed during Pusha, mrigasira, hastha or Ashwini nakshatra. Or during Grahana. They are very potent during these nakshatras. And have to be removed in the Brahmi Muhurtha ( 4:30 - 5:30 AM ). Plants are worshipped standing North East and then uprooted for medicinal purposes. Medicines consumed during the Amritha Kala of a Nakshatra are very beneficial for shamana of vitiated dosha ( vata, pitta and kapha ). Shamana - bringing down the vitiated dosha to normalcy.
