Questions to Narasimha About Your Software

Dear Mu'Min,

 

The lite version does not have the things that you are looking for, but the

commercial version to be released on May 8 does have some things you asked for.

 

I have not given the option to use lagna in Yogini dasa, but have given the

option in Vimsottari dasa. In fact, you can initiate Vimsottari dasa from

Moon's star or lagna's star or Utpanna star or Kshema star or Adhana star or

Mandi's star or Gulika's star or Trisphuta's star. In each case, the respective

longitude is used for finding dasas.

 

I am not an expert in Kootas and have not touched them in the software. In fact,

the software does not have any features needed for matchmaking. Perhaps later.

 

Ayudha drekkanas, sapra drekkanas, pakshi drekkanas etc of planets are listed in

the software. Also listed are the 64th navamsa lord and the 22nd drekkana lords

(using 4 different definitions drekkana, so that you can conduct researches).

 

Mrityu bhaga too is listed. The distance of all the planets from the respective

mrityu bhaga cusps is listed and planets within 0.5 deg from the cusp of mrityu

bhaga are identified. In the case of Moon, Pushkara bhaga too is given along

with mrityu bhaga. In fact, the mrityu bhaga support is comprehensive and gives

all the options needed. There are two variations given for Moon's mrityu bhaga

is classics. So I gave the option to choose the definition you like. Moreover,

some people interpret the death-inflicting region differently. For example, 19

deg is the mrityu bhaga of Jupiter in Aries. What does it mean? Does it mean

that the fatal one degree starts at 19 deg or is centered at 19 deg or ends at

19 deg? I have given all the three options, so that you can experiment.

 

Dr. Charak, for example, takes 19 deg as the center of mrityu bhaga, i.e. 18.5

deg-19.5 deg is the fatal region for Jupiter in Aries. Based on what I am

taught, mrityu bhagas are based on trimsamsa (1/30th division of rasi, which

shows evils - BTW, the commercial version gives two additional trimsamsa charts

that use all the twelve signs, apart from Parasara's trimsamsa that does not use

Cancer and Leo). When we say 19 deg is the fatal part, it means that the 19th

degree (or 19th trimsamsa!) is the fatal trimsamsa, i.e. 18 deg-19 deg is the

fatal region for Jupiter in Aries. I believe this is the right way. But

nevertheless I gave all the three options so that researchers can experiment!

 

Wherever possible, I have given options extensively. All the options are set to

the defaults that I recommend.
