Dear Pradeep,

Yes! There is a logic behind every division. Try to relate properties of signs

with divisions and you will get the answer. For example, signs are fiery,

earthy, airy, watery and signs are also moveable, fixed and dual. In D3 Aries

1st part is Aries, 2nd Leo and 3rd Sagittarius. Aries the, fiery sign consists

of not only of itself but also the other two fiery signs which are also

Kshatriya signs and rule east direction. But fist part is moveable, 2nd fixed

and 3rd dual. When we look at planets position in D3 chart we are using a

filter glass on our eyes to see only these qualities and leaving out others.

And when we use D3 we will see only these for those some aspects of life for

which they are relevant. See what we discern from D3 charts.

 

Similarly in D4 chart all the moveble signs consist of other moveable signs,

fixed signs consist of other fixed signs and so on and what we interpret from

D4 are properties moveble or fixed or of dual character. (house, cattle,

investments). This was written just to give a hint and you will have to delve

deep in the initial chapters of BPHS to get the relevance more clear.

Dear Chandrashekhar jiI was bit curious about the logic behind divisions within

a Rashi.Each rashi can be divided further into 9,10,24,60 etc starting from

aries until pisces and then aries again.Have you come across any reasons for

this during ur experiments with astrology.I have asked a qstn cpl of days back

addressed to Narasimha Raoji.It is difficult to find logic behind every usage

and may not be needed as well.Still just out of curiousity.Becuase this could

help us understand the validity of aspects within divisional charts.Thanks in

Dear Shiv Chadha Ji

 

The clues from your mail were very inspiring.I checked my chart for

understanding your explanations.For eg.If a planet is in a movable

sign in rashi, say 10(capri) then when we divide this into 4(D4),the

planets residing will fall only in movable signs (1,4,7 or 10) in D4.

Similar was the case for other fixed and dual signs.D3 positions

were also verified as per your corresponding logic.

 

Thus i have learned that i have to research more to understand the

basics.

 

But i will put down what i have understood.

1)Divisional charts should be used only along with Rashi.Never in

isolation.There is no meaning otherwise.

 

2)Significance for divisional charts lies just in identifying the

nature of signs in which each planet is residing.

For eg if it is D-4,If Venus is in a fixed sign - it could relate to

a fixed property having qualities of Venus.I cannot understand even

the concept of Bhavas or Aspects in Divisional charts.Hence i

beleive trying to find bhavas in divisional charts cannot be

helpful.Kindly correct me.For eg it may be just representing the

scatter of planets present in a single rashi vis-a-vis corresponding

divisions within that Rashi.

 

Also i have found that in the most imp divisional chart Navamsha,for

some signs the navamsha counting starts from itself - in my case

when capricorn, navamsha starts from Capri itself.For some signs it

starts from the fifth while for others it starts from the ninth.I

have used the degree,Pada,Rashi sign and Navamsha in my chart to

find this.What could be the significance of this.I will read

more ,sorry for asking this qstn.If this can be answered in 2-3

lines then its fine else i will read as you have advised.
