Guest guest Posted October 11, 2003 Report Share Posted October 11, 2003 Esteemed and revered people, I had 2 dreams so far, that I'm interested in knowing about. i) This dream occured 3 yrs ago, I dreamt of a divine being who had a pleasant Orange skin (as opposed to a fiery Orange) and was tall, young, handsome, serene and clad in a light-blue dhoti who walked very serenely towards me with a kind gesture of a father and walked away after a little kiss on the forehead. ii) 2 days ago, a very, very short dream of a Sanyasi with a very handsome countenance, middle-aged, clad in off-white and having a shaven head, with the off-white cloth draped around the head, who looked at me and said something like, "I will definitely make you live very well" (not sure of exactly what he said, it may even be something like "I will definitely save you"). The only parts I remember is the word "definite", the Sanyasi himself and the pleasant note of the dream. I remembered it was a dream in the dream itself, so I went to narrate my dream to someone else regarding how pleasant it had been. But it is said, a very large portion of our dreams are mere reflections of our deepest yearnings and don't really call-for anything along spirituality line. But also it is stated, some dreams are special. Are these dreams just superflous reflections on some thoughts from deep-psyche or are true blessings? Being a normal person who is only somewhat spiritual, I wonder what category the dreams belong to... Only thing that makes me give weightage is the extremely realistic, vivid persona of both the divine-being as well as the Sanyasi in my dreams, whose faces are CRYSTAL CLEAR and vivid in the mind..., so I'm tempted to ask. Is there a way to tell, as just like anyone, I would be happy to know if these are not merely one of those boiled out of the stew of thoughts from the deep psyche.... Perhaps you were killed by a snake in a past life and this fear may recur in dreams in this life.... Dreams are of 4 types: 1. Past life experiences 2. Present life experiences (usually all meddled up and mixed on sub-conscious level) 3. Spiritual dreams with revelations etc. from higher beings 4. Dreams caused by interaction with ghosts and other unwanted beings on subtle level Do not attach too much significance to dreams....if you follow a spiritual process like chanting you may start having nice spiritual dreams in your sleep, and sleep peacefully.... I hope I am not rattling anyone's cage by my postings. I have a true reverance for rattle snakes none of which were seen in a dream or two but in real 'shows' in South Dakota in U.S.A. once. There used to be a saying in rural Bengal, my Late Mother used to relate that sticks in my mind. A dream of snakes as an omen, sometimes indicates that the dreamer or a close relative will have a child soon. I have never followed that up as a validation exercise so do not know for sure. Just like we have a reality at work, the daily rat race and there is a reality that we live when we go on vacation! Both are real but must not be mixed!
