Zircon is double refractive and 99% of the time, it is heat treated from a greyish tinge to make it a presentable whitish colour. The cheapest of course is the colourless quartz. Though Brazillian material also goes through the same heat treatment on site (even before suppliers get to it). Hope this helps.
