Interpretation of strength for Lagna

Dear Friends,

Please help me in clarifying the interpretation of strength

of Lagna. In a horoscope Lagna is to be studied both from Janma

Lagna or Ascendant and Janma Rasi or Chandra Lagna. Lagna is said to

be well disposed if Janma Lagna is good, Lagnadhipati is good , both

Lagna Bhava and Lagnadhipati receive benefic aspects and Lagna

is occupied by benefic planets. We normally say that Lagnadhipati is

good if the planet is having sufficient Shadbala strength( minimum

required strength for the planet). Similarly if Bhava Bala of Lagna

Bhava (first Bhava ) is having sufficient strength in Roopas, then

Lagna is good. But I do not have any idea whether there are any

minimum number of Roopas required for a Bhava, to say that Bhava is

strong. (For example in case of native of a horoscope with Virgo

Lagna, Bhava bala of first house is 8.68 Roopas. Among Bhavas it

ranks fourth in terms of Roopas Shadbala strength of Mercury is

1.04 Ishta phala is 32.4 and Kashta phala is 21.1. Lagna is not

occupied by any planet but aspected by Mars from 7th house and

Jupiter from 9th house. Mercury is in 2nd house and aspected by Mars

from 7th house. Can we say Lagna is strong or having sufficient

strength). This needs clarification.

 

In respect of Chandra Lagna is it possible to say that Chandra Lagna

is good , if Bhava Bala of Bhava occupied by Moon is having

sufficient strength in Roopas and Rasi Adhipati is having sufficient

Shadbala strength? ( For example if native with Virgo Lagna is

having Moon in 4th house , Sagittarius and Bhava Bala of fourth

Bhava is 7.94 Roopas. Among Bhavas it ranks 8th in terms of Roopas.

Shadbala strength of Jupiter is 1.023 with Ishta phala of 50.8 and

Kashta phala of 8.0. Moon is with Venus and Jupiter is in 9th house

with Saturn and receives aspect from Sun in 3rd house. Sagittarius

Rasi does not receive any good or bad aspects. Can we say Chandra

Lagna is not having sufficient strength?)

 

Similarly Navamsa Lagna is in Aries. Both Lagnadhipati Mars is having

highest Shadbala strength and Lagna Bhava Aries is having highest

Roopas for Bhava Bala . So can we say Navamsa Lagna is strong?

 

I am not specifically mentioning about aspects and occupation of

Rasis or houses by planets as calculations for Shadbala strength and

Bhava Bala take care of all these issues, in detail including

combustion and Graha Yuddha etc

Rasi: Lagna – Virgo; Mercury – Libra; Sun –Scorpio; Venus

and Moon – Sagittarius; Ketu- Aquarius; Mars – Pisces;

Saturn(R ) and

Jupiter( R) – Taurus ; and Rahu – Leo

 

Navamsa: Lagna-Aries; Ketu – Taurus; Moon, Sun and Jupiter( R)

– Leo; Venus – Libra; Rahu- Scorpio; Mars – Sagittarius ;

Saturn( R)

– Capricorn; and Mercury- Pisces

 

Shadbala strengths: Sun-1.098; Moon – 1.376; Mars-1.651; Mercury-

1.043; Jupiter – 1.023; Venus- 1.373; and Saturn-0.910

 

Bhava Bala Roopas

8.68; 8.88; 8.63; 7.94; 5.73; 5.75; 7.31; 9.58; 8.96;
