Below are the (very!) general effects of the 10th lords placement in different houses.

However, there are many factors (classical rules) which one have to take into

consideration as those will influence the nature of the 10th lord (among those

are other house rulership, if benefic or malefic (in kendra), aspects, position

in D-10 etc.

Lord of the 10th house in

(1) Learned; rise in life; wealthy; poet; sickly in childhood; increasing

wealth; self-employed or independent profession; If conj. with lagna lord:

become famous and pioneer in field of work, engaged in public institutions and

social projects;

(2) Wealthy (self acquired); happy; respected by gov.; charitable; fortunate;

rise well in life; good earnings; may engage in family trade; prosper in the

restaurant (etc) business; If malefics afflict the 10th house: suffer losses;

(3) Courageous; livelihood is from service; becomes well off only by hard work

(may be a writer); If lord is in 6-8-12 in Navamsa or unfriendly constellation:

rise slowly in life with many obstacles; If 3nd lord is also afflicted:

conflicts with brothers.;

(4) Good position (asp. own-10th); happiness from mother; wealthy & learned;

lucky; generous; If 4,9&10th lords well disposed & related to one another: may

become a political authority; If affl. or conj. 8th lord (in 4th) may have

losses, forced to a life of service;

(5) Rise in career by changes (beneficial results), high education; learned;

intelligent; wealthy; engaged in speculations, as broker etc; happiness from

children;

(6) Ups & downs in professional life (& enemies within); unfortunate; probable

occupation within the judiciary, prisons or hospitals; If lord is aspected by

Saturn: may have a low-paying job without much prospect; If aspected by

benefics: will hold a position of authority;

(7) Learned; good thinker; studious; good married life; wife may be helping in

your work; travelling abroad on missions; well known for skills and

achievements; make profits in partnership ventures;If lord is afflicted:

debased in sexual habits and indulged in vice;

(8) Bad morals; black-mailer; losses in profession and many breaks in career;

disgrace but long lived; If 10th lord affl. by malefic: criminal propensities &

commit offences; If lord is aspected/assoc. in the 8th house: becomes mystic or

spiritual teacher;

(9) Gives rise to powerful Raja-yoga giving name, fame & wealth; good

children; learned and happy; influenced by father; spiritually inclined; may

become a teacher or healer;

(10) Gives rise to powerful Raja-yoga. Clever; happy enterprising; truthful;

wealthy; famous; learned; honoured; high position in public sector; If 10th

lord occupies 6-8-12 from Navamsa: career my be routine & ordinary;

(11) Happiness from children; truthful; always happy; good gains by

own-efforts i.e. professional career; very fortunate; may have own business

with many employees; many friends; If 11th house is affl.: friends turn to

enemies causing hardships and worries;

(12) Losses through government. (taxes, fines etc.) unhappy; losses and

trouble from secret enemies in profession; working far from home; lack

comforts; facing many difficulties in life; If lord is affl.: engaged in

smuggling or other illegal activities;
