Guest guest
Janma mrtyu jara vyadi dosa dhuka anu darshanam Gita 13.8-12 when we understand that birth, death, old age, and disease are intrisically evil then we can progress to leave this world. Does it indicate that we should not worry about any thing and leave it up to GOD no matter whatever adverse circumstances we have?? If that is the case then should we worry about our present or future? Any insight into it will be helpful. Kindly excuse me if it is a trivial question as I am just learning. Thanks Vicki
Guest guest
|Namah Shivaaya| Dear Vicki, Your searching in a sacred text reveals a depth of spirituality in you, as well as the searching in a Higher Truth... Astrologically speaking, the Houses of growth (Upachaya) are 3, 6, 10 and 11. There are people in this (and others, I'm sure) list that will attest that they had and do have some level of free will. This is also a debate that has been, and will continue for years. While this is not a list on the Gita, Astrologers do, and have studied it extracting the references to the Stars. I now address your quote below. Firstly, you only quoted part of the 9th Shloka. If I write correctly, the entire verses (8 -- 12) are: amanitvam adambhitvam ahimsa ksantie arjavam acaryopasanam saucam thairyam atma-vinigrahah indriyarthesu vairagyam anahankara eva ca janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi dukha-dosaudarsanam asaktir anabhisvagah putra-dara-grhadisu nityam ca sama cittatvam istanistoppattisu mayi cananya-yogena bhaktir avyabhicarini vivikta-desa-sevitvam aratir jana-samsadi adhatma-jnana-nityatvah tattva-jnanartha-darsanam etaj jnanam iti proktam ajnanam yad ato nyatha To sumamrize, the author is helping us define that which is knowledge. I don't see how you tied in the present / future in this. Bur regardless, if you do believe in the present / future and even perhaps karmic cycles of time and rebirth, then yes, there lies some responsibility in you for the influence of change. Why go as in-depth as the Sacred texts? Consider Sir Isaac Newton's law along the lines fo -- "every action has an opposite and equal reaction." If I sleep late, I may be more tired tomorrow morning, on awakening. If I respond to your message, you, and perhaps those who had the patience to read, will be influenced by the letters in this mailing. If I don't brush my teeth at least twice a day, my dentist will not be happy, and my smile won't be as charming as I would like it to be. I hope that some of the above helps you. This is not a trivial, but a deep question. However, it is perhaps better put, in my opinion, on another list. I have tried giving some reference to the Stars to help answer your query. Take care. Hang in there. With love, light and blessings, Nitin. :> vedic astrology, "vca_sap" <vca_sap> wrote: > Janma mrtyu jara vyadi dosa dhuka anu darshanam Gita 13.8-12 when we > understand that birth, death, old age, and disease are intrisically > evil then we can progress to leave this world. > > Does it indicate that we should not worry about any thing and leave > it up to GOD no matter whatever adverse circumstances we have??
