Guest guest
Aum Namah Shivaya Dear Sanjay, SJC members and friends, Thanks for announcing my name in the list of new jyotish teachers. Thanks to all those who had written to me. Sanjay had written to me a few months back wondering about my reaction if he announced my name as a Jyotish guru. Teaching and Jyotish had always been foremost for me. I am quite happy to share knowledge freely. Of course jyotish teachers are more of siksha gurus, and hence the term jyotish acharya is more appropriate probably, than the word `guru', in my opinion. I would be quite happy to teach/share what I know, and see no conflict in this regard with the SJC which aspires to do the same. In fact the SJC's consistent efforts to promote the cause of Jyotish and its role in popularizing and re-awakening the interest in Jaimini matham as part of Parasara's teachings, are commendable. Hence I had always been open to interaction, sharing and discussion on these lists, as well as at the SJC's conferences in India. But announcing my name as the President for the Australian chapter, has been a surprise to me. While I would be quite happy to share knowledge as a jyotish acharya, and extend my service to jyotish lovers at SJC, I request Sanjay to kindly announce some other name for the SJC's Australian president's role. I was not aware that my name would be announced as the SJC's president for Australia. It is learning and teaching that interests me more than anything else. I wish not to be entangled in financial and administrative matters of any organization generally. I do not wish to bite more than I can chew. Sorry for the confusion. Regards, Satya
