Digbal Basis

Dear S. Rath/PVR

RAM KRISHN HARE

Digbal and dikbal are both correct and there is no difference. So we

can

focus on its probable basis.

First we should understand that Digbal shows strength in a particular

direction. Now see what is indicated by different houses and grahas.

10th indicates KH(zenith/higher position).Ravi and Mangal having Agni

Tatwa(which naturally go in upward direction) are therefore strong.

4th indicates Ambu(water)/patal.Chandr and shukr with Jal tatwa(which

flows downward)are strong here.

Lagn is nothing but earth.(we calculate it on the basis of earth's

rotation).Earth indicates stability.7th is opposite to it and hence

can be called unstable/Airy.

Budh is earthy. So it is strong in Lagn.Guru has Akash tatwa which is

also

stable.Hence Guru is also strong in Lagn. Moreover,Guru lords North-

eastern

direction and his eastern position is more preferable based on tatwa

than

north.East is offcourse Lagn.

Shani is Airy so strong in 7th.Moreover,he is lord of western

direction

which is 7th house.

The directions are up,down,fixed,ocsillatory.

Hope this Tatwa basis of digbal will be satisfactory.

Panch-Mahapurush Yoga and Draupadi: there was different reason why

she got

5 husbands. She asked for these qualities but she also said "Patim

Dehi"

five times and hence was awarded with 5 husbands.

Another case of repeatation is a curse of Vrinda to Dharm. She was

doing Tap

to get God as Her husband.Dharm came as a man and tried to convince

Her

for marriage with him (to test Her). She cursed him 3 times that he

will

be destroyed.when She wanted to tell 4th time,Sun-God appeared and

told

truth. She then restricted her curse by saying that in each yug,he

will loose

one quarter. She said, since 4th one was intended but not

explicit,Dharm will

not be completely destroyed, however he will be almost nil at the end

of

Kaliyug.

Thus, repeatation was the main problem rather than qualities.

Shree Ram had all qualities of Mahapurush for Mangal,Ravi etc.

Ram-Ban is still considered an unfailing solution for the problems.

How He completed His promise to completely destroy Rakshasas from

earth

can only be attributed to Mangal. Ram-Rajy is still a dream for

rulers.

Without Ravi, can you see such strong King?It is definately possible to

have all Mahapurush yogas in one person.

THANKS

I do understand the importance of quadrants. However, planets have a

digbala assigned in all houses and not just in quadrants. There has

to be

some consistent justification for the digbalas assigned in all houses.

You may say that Mars in the 10th house attains full digbala due to

being

placed in an artha trikona, because he is a planet of action, and

attains

zero digbala in the 4th house of moksha trikona, because he is for

action

and not for renunciation. Then, how come Mars in the 12th house (a

moksha

trikona) gets 2/3rd digbala (quite high), while Mars in 6th house (an

artha

trikona) gets only 1/3rd digbala (quite low)? I understand the

importance

of quadrants and why Mars attains full digbala in 10th and not in

2nd/6th.

I am not asking why 10th is beating 2nd/6th. I am only asking why

12th is

beating 2nd/6th! Taking just the trikona occupied and the purushartha

associated with it, I cannot convincingly explain it. I wonder if you

have

anything more to say.

Same thing holds for all planets. For example, Jupiter attains 100%

digbala

in 1st (dharma) and 0% in 7th (kaama). However, he attains 67%

digbala in

3rd and 11th (kaama) and only 33% in 5th and 9th (dharma).

1. If Kalaabala and digbala are to be one and the same the Rishi's

would

never have used different words for them.

2. Digbala is related to the directions of life that the planets

govern as

dharma, artha , kaama and moksha.

3. The kendra are the houses which show the diga for the native -

fifth

shows his aspiration and ninth shows the inspiration. Take Lagna this

is

the dharma trikona. Here the most important is the inspiration i.e.

dharma

itself in the ninth house. It is this inspiration that motivates a

person.

What the person aspires for is a guru indicated by the fifth house

and the

guru mantra that will fulfill the objective of this ayana.

Next consider artha. Here the aspiration of wealth being the fifth

from the

tenth house is what motivates. The inspiration (ninth from 10th house

is

the 6th house) of hard work and labour follows.

Next consider Kaama. The ninth house (mithuna) is the inspiration and

the

aspiration is friendship, companionship etc in the 11th house in

matters of

the opposite sex. while for the same sex the aspiration is what

causes

inspiration..a friend (11th house) in need (parakrama 3rd house) is a

friend indeed.

Next consider the fourth house. The moksha trikona. here moksha or

the

12th house (ninth from 4th) is what inspires and the aspiration is

the

8th house (5th from 4th) where we have to suffr our past karma

backlog.

In all these cases, the houses governing you are the four kendra

houses

and hence Parasara specifically calls them Vishnu or (Narayana

Nara+ayana)

sthana.

4. Now come to the planets.

The dharma trikona has the single principal objective of developing

BRAHMA

TEJAS and for this the only path is the Guru (Jupiter) Sisya

(Mercury)

Parampara. That is why Mercury and Jupiter get digbala in the dharma

trikona and they increase learning and propagation of the righteous

way of

life. the other objectives are secondary.

The artha trikona has the single principal objective of developing

KSHATRA

TEJAS and for this the only path is the path of Rajayoga where the

King

(Sun) and Commander-in-chief (Mars) establish security and law that

ushers

in prosperity. An unruly state is one that suffers poverty. The other

sim

of accumulating wealth etc is secondary to this principal aim.

....in this manner look into the other ayana. and try to know WHY

Venus and

Moon for MOKSHA?? Remember Tapasvi yoga and Adi Sankara's teaching

about

the mother & gati.

5. Trikona is the key but the Kendra are what matter. They are the

self.

That is why a MAHAPURUSHA yoga is caused when a planet occupies a

KENDRA

only. Further, Mahapurusha yoga are also linked to the four ayana of

life.

Again you may ask that what happens in a chart like that of Sri Rama

where

there are four Mahapurusha Yoga in all four kendra. In such cases

remember

the reply of Lord SHIVA to DRAUPADI when she asked for a husband

having all

the five heads of Shiva ..such a human being cannot be born and she

had to

settle for five husbands..the panca mahapurusha (pandava). thus in

Sri

Rama's case Jupiter wanted to make Him the most perfect ever

representation

of Dharma while Mars wanted Him to be the same for Kama..which one

won? Try

this. Next was the struggle between Sun in exaltation in 10th and

Saturn in

4th in exaltation. Saturn did boss over his time and made the Lord a

sadhu

in the jungle like a tapasvi but ultmately the Sun won as the 10th

house is

stronger and dasa changed.

I have purposely not touched BALA & ASTAKAVARGA so far, as these are

controversial like the AYANAMSA..some day I will enter this arena.
