Dear Rao ji

Namaste,

There are two more Bandhana Yogas in Jataka Parijata.

1. When 6th Lord , Saturn and Lagna Lord are in conjunction in Kendra or Trikona.

2. When 6th Lord and Lagna Lord are in conjunction with Rahu or ketu , and

situated in Kendra or Trikona.

In my chart, two planets ( Sun , Mercury ) are in 6th house and two planets (

Venus, Ketu ) are in 8th house from Lagna ( Libra ). I was born in Ketu Maha

dasa, and among the four planets forming Bandhana yoga in my chart, Mahadasa

of three planets ( Ketu, Venus, Sun ) have already passed. I have never been

imprisoned so far. And in my lifetime I am not going to see the Mahadasa of the

4th planet forming this yoga.

Imprisonment means more than simple presence of Bandhana Yoga in a chart, I

think. What is your opinion?

I request the Gurus and other learned members to enlighten us about how to look

at the possibility of imprisonment in a chart.

Namaste,

Let me attempt to answer your question using the "Bandhana Yoga" principles, I

have learned recently.

If I remember correctly from my readings from "Jaimini Updesha Sutras by Sanjay

Ji", it says: If there are equal no. of planets in the 2/12; 3/11; 4/10; 5/9;

or 6/8 (All of the pair add to 14, eg: 2+12=14, 3+11=14 etc.,).

If they form with malefics then it shows imprisonment and if formed with

benefics then it shows some type of house arrest.

There are three variations based on what is the lagna with which the Bandhana Yoga is formed:

* If it forms around Lagna it shows Physical immprisonment; * If around the

AL,it shows hinderences in the matrial life and * If around the karakamsa-

hindrences in the spiritual growth.

I would request Guru's and learned members to correct me if I am wrong.

upward journey of an evolving soul to the Supreme Godhead, is a Bandhana, a

bondage. And attachment to the family and relatives , matters and money can be

a severe obstacle to the spiritual journey. So, the Bandhana Yoga is not

necessarily mean imprisonment in the sense we use the term. Imprisonment of the

soul was the prime concern of the Seers who wrote the classics of Jyotish.

As you have mentioned I am very much attached to my family. This is one of

Bandhana, an obstacle to my dream of a dedicated spiritual life.

Here Bandhana Yoga does not necessarily imprisonment.As I wrote you before,it

can be a bondage between your close relatives which you made you to repay your

past Karma debts connected with them during the Dasas of Ketu,Shukra and Surya.

Dear Mr. Rao

I have bandhan yoga. But not the type you have described. I have malefics

in all four kendra, Rahu and Guru in taurus lagna, venus and mercury in the

fourth, ketu in 7th, and saturn in 10th.

I know that you have described this from jaimini sutra, but even after some

benefics in the kendra, I suffer a lot due to that.

Namaste,

Let me attempt to answer your question using the "Bandhana Yoga" principles,

I have learned recently.

If I remember correctly from my readings from "Jaimini Updesha Sutras by

Sanjay Ji", it says: If there are equal no. of planets in the 2/12; 3/11;

4/10; 5/9; or 6/8 (All of the pair add to 14, eg: 2+12=14, 3+11=14 etc.,).

If they form with malefics then it shows imprisonment and if formed with

benefics then it shows some type of house arrest.

There are three variations based on what is the lagna with which the

Bandhana Yoga is formed:

* If it forms around Lagna it shows Physical immprisonment;

* If around the AL,it shows hinderences in the matrial life and

* If around the karakamsa- hindrences in the spiritual growth.

I would request Guru's and learned members to correct me if I am wrong.

Dear Rao/Dilip,

I am of the opinion that only presence of equal number of planets in 2

houses could never ,by themselves lead to bandhana yoga. Jataka

Parijata approach is more logical. Even here the results would depend

on the relation that Saturn has with the Lagna. I think that 12th house

will alsohave to be afflicted in order that the imprisonment actually

comes through.

Basing either strength or yoga on mere number of planets does not

appear logical, at least to me, though these yogas are given in some

texts.

Hare Rama Krsna.

Could we understand the bandhana yoga to work in the form of an

enclosement in a monastery perhaps? That means the freedom of the person

will also be very much limited, however only bodily and the soul will

indeed be on the spiritual platform? I thought I have seen it working that

that also.
