Click on "Miscellany" in the top tab. Then click on "Panchanga" in

the bottom tab. RahuK stands for Rahu kalam. GulikaK stands for

Gulika kalam. YamaG stands for Yama gandam.

The formula for rahu kalam is as follows:

First determine the sunrise and sunset time for the location of

interest. Take the length of that day and divide it into Eight parts.

Drop the first part.

Second part is for monday

Third part is for Saturday

Fourth part is for Friday

Fifth part is for Wednesday

Sixth part is for Thursday

Seventh part is for Tuesday

Eighth part is for Sunday

Using this, you should now be able to calculate the Rahukalam for

Minneapolis today.

Om Gurave namah

Dear Rao

Use the astadala padma (eight petal lotus) or Kala chakra (see prasna marga or

VRA) and starting with the day of the lord, count to Rahu. add 1 hr 30 min (one

kala) for each planet and you will arrive at the rahu kala. Don't skip this and

learn all you can about the kala chakra as it is fundamental to jyotish

Best wishes

Dear sir,

There is one school of thought which holds that

irrespective of the time of Sunrise or Sun set, Rahu

kalam invariably commences at 6.00 a.m. The other

school of thought says that Rahu kalam has to be

computed based on Sun rise time.

With regards,

Jagannathan.
