om namo näräyaëäya|Dear Ramesh Ji,

When Shani transits through 4th house from Chandra is called Kantaka Shani .

Kantaka means obstacles and so during this transit of Shani,the native faces a

lot of obstacles on the way of comforts,domestic happiness,motherly happiness

etc.Now when Shani transits through 8th house from Chandra,it is called Ashtama

Shani meaning 8th house transit.As we know 8th house is called Randhra

Sthana,Krisha,Guhya,Marana Sthana etc.So when Shani transits over 8th house

from Chandra Rashi,the native suffers from sufferings equal to death.If the

Maraka dasa-Maraka Antara also running at that time,death occurs.But if the

Dasa-Antara are of friends of Shani,the said told sufferings will reduce and

there may not be any effect of such transit.Now for example,Shani was

transitting Simha Rashi from 6-9-1977 to 3-11-1979.I will geve here my example.

During this period I was running Guru Dasha- Shani Antara and Budha's

Antara.Shani is my Lagna Lord and Budha is my 6th and 9th lord

placed in 3rd house with Guru and Shani (V) in 9th house in Kanya Rashi.Now

during this period, first I got promotion in my career,2nd is I got married and

3rd I got a male child.So even Shani was transitting 8th from Chandra Rashi,no

malefic results were shown by Shani's transit.

Again Shani was transitting in 4th house from Chandra Rashi ie., Mesha Rashi

between 17th April 1998 and 5th June 2000.At that time I was running Shani

Dasa- Shukra Antara and Surya Antara and this time was really very good in my

family and a high prosperity was there during this time.Shukra is Yoga karaka

and a friend of Shani and Surya eventhough is an enemy of Shani but is in

Pushkaramsha and so the period was good.

So I have given here example to show the transit of Shani either Kantaka or

Ashtama Shani will be malefic or benefic depending on the Dasa- Antara and the

strength of such planets.

Now regarding Shani with Chandra in birth indicates the native is born with

sadesathi and this indicates by birth there are difficulties and as the life

goes like that,the native does not feel much sufferings as he/she feels that

this is the fate.Also here the Dasa- Antara dasa is very important to be

considered and the results to be interpreted.

Dear Ramadas Ji

Very informative analysis with own life examples.

One related question.If a native is born with Shani and Chandra in

Navamsha Lagna, what does it mean - Sade sathi as per navamsha

transit?.What can be the effects?

The case has Cancer lagna with shani and chandra there.

In the Navamsha Lagna if a combination of Shani with Chandra are there,then

during Shani's transit over this position,then the native experiences

difficulties ,but as I wrote previously you have to look into Dasa and Antara

Dasa also to confirm whether really the time will be tough.Remedial measures

are already given before by many in these columns.

Shani in the 8th is Astama Shani.Ashtama means 8th.Shani in the 4th is cal1led

Ardhstama Shani.Half ashtama is Four?.These transits are in general quite

unfavourable for every one.Lighting a lamp of oil for Shani and performing

archana is the usual remedy done by many in general.
