[vedic astrology] Saptamsa & Abortion: Marcus, Dhira & JKDa

comes to the topic of Saptamsa and Sex-Determination, rules are still not

clear. A lot of research needs to be done before we can blindly start using

rules/principles we now use and take for granted!!Hence, the best way, in my

opinion is to, rectify Saptamsa and understand it to ascertain the individual

child's nature using its Paaka Lagna. Lets take the case of Marcus' lady

friend, whose chart was posted on the list a week back.In Saptamsa, Taurus

rises with 5H (Capricorn) containing the 10L Rahu & Lagna Lord Venus. Now, 10L

is Maraka and would usually kill the child in question. Lets assume that child

suruvived because of presence of Saptamsa Lagna Lord Venus who is a survivor by

nature! Lets take 5th lord now ... it is Saturn which is debilitated in Aries.

Now as per normal rules, this would mean a GIRL!! Lets assume that Rahu caused

the sex-change(?) and this means a BOY as given by Marcus.Now, instead of being

happy using unclear rules, we should go a step further and ascertain the childs

nature. We should be able to fairly describe the individual child and thereby

confirming whether our assumptions about the arcane rules and assumptions are

indeed correct!Here Aries is Lagna, with Debilitated Saturn and Lagna lord in

12th house and Sarpa Yoga. This combination does not indicate a happy child, in

fact it shows an angry & miserable child who suffers from depression and low

self-esteem!!2nd pregnancy is shown by 7th house, lets take both Scorpio and

Pisces as alternatives. With Scorpio, lord Mars situated in Pisces becomes the

Lagna for 2nd child, lets once again assume that Rahu caused the sex change.

Taking Pisces as Lagna does show an authorative person, but someone who is more

dharmik and one who is very scrupulous as we have Dharma-karmadhipati Yoga. I

doubt this shows a rabble-rouser with a difficult nature!!! Now, taking Pisces

as pregnancy house, take Jupiter in Saggitarius as Lagna and give reading.

Again Hamsa Maha Purusa Yoga and the best form of Dharma-karamdipati yoga!!

Thus, our assumptions on Saptmsa Lagna is most probably incorrect!Hence I feel

Saptmsa Lagna should be Cancer. Ketu in Lagna causes reversal of reckoning and

hence Scorpio becomes 1st pregnancy. Its Lord Mars is in Pisces and becomes the

Lagna of Eldest child. Mars in Lagna would make him sportive, Jupiter in 10th

Successful etc. 2nd Pregnancy by 7th house with 8th lord Rahu and badhakesh

Venus indicating trouble in marriage and child from 2nd marriage! Its Lord

Saturn in Aries, debilitated, indicates a GIRL. Now, take Aries as Lagna and

give reading, the difficult nature and rabble rouser becomes evident!!

Why trouble in marriage? due to badhakesh venus? in fact rahu should creat

problem for the pregnency itself. also if rahu is present in the child's

lagna..is it not that the next pregnancy - if any, will be delayed and to be

seen from next rashi i.e Aq in this case due to change in manduka gati? Going

to 4th pregnancy, Its 11th house or badhakasthana with 8th lord causing

For a deliberate abortion - i think rahu's perticipation is more appropriate.

Dear JKDa,

 

I did not say that "Rahu causes sex-change" ... what I said

was "let's assume that Rahu causes sex-change" so as to not get

tangled into these exceptions and focus on explaining the nature of

the child using the paaka lagna of the child. Please refer to the

first 2 paragraphs of my mail.

 

As far as Manduka Gati is concerened, I have not found consistent

use of it, which means that there is a lot more to be learnt from

it. Hence I brushed it aside, and focussed on paaka lagna.

 

Obviously, 2nd pregnancy should have been lost with Rahu (8th lord)

there and Venus (Baadhakesh) there and its lord Saturn in 10th house

of Maraka in Saptamsa. However, taking Aries as the Lagna does

explain the nature of the child, doesn't it???

 

Bottomline, many rules are unclear and we need to do some more

serious research on it, before we can take them for granted and use

them reliably. This is not the case now. Hence, a fail-proof (well

almost ) method is to use paakal lagna.

 

Another important assumption we have made is that we have not

questioned the native so far and depended on the intermediary

(Marcus). More often than not, people are not clear about what they

say and I dont say it in a negative way and definitely no offense

intended to our friend Marcus ... but most people dont feel it

neccessary to tell us if they had prior miscarriage/abortion unless

grilled in person! So we cannot take anything at face-value!!!!!!!!

 

For Example, if Taurus is indeed the Lagna, then first pregnancy

must have been aborted .. so on and so forth. Hopefully I have been

able to put my views across clearly and eliminates confusion to a

considerable extent

Dear Visti,

I am now totally confused.Maraka Lords from Ascendant have certain places

alloted to them in Natal Horoscope. In case of individual bhavas , if my

mermory serves me right 8th house is looked at for destruction of the concerned

bhava. Again if I remember BPHS right, Parashara says"Raajyeshe Bhagyasthe Jaato

Raajaa RaajakulodbhavaH. Tatsamo nyakulotpanna DhanaputraadisamyutaH.." This

does not indicate 10th lord acting aas Marakesh for 9th Bhava. Rather it

indicates that the jaaka will be blessed with wealth and Sons/progeny.

Even if we accept the premise the lord of 2nd from bhava getting Maraka powers

by virtue of being lord of 2nd house from the concerned bhava, in Saptamsa, In

the post, how can the same Rahu be once treated as maraka and again as

causative agent for sex change? Again in case of second child which ever way

one looks at it the house will be 7th house. Now the point is why shift here to

Aries as ascendant when Saptamsa lagna is Taurus. Could we also then treat the

5th house as maraka for indications of 4th house?
