Topaz is what is known as uparatna. Pushya raga is also called Pukhraj or Pushparaga colloquially. Guest guest
Thank you for the clear cut explanation, it was most helpful in understanding things. best wishes Sunil John ------- Original message -------From : Ramadas Rao Date : Thu, 25 Sep 2003 09:26:52 +0100 (BST) ` nmae naray[ay om namo näräyaëäya Dear Sunil, Uparatna means it has some qualities of Nava Ratnas.Nava atnas are the original gem stones and they bestow ver poitive results when worn with great care and after Pooja etc. Also they are very expensive. But Uparatnas are not that mush expnsive and they give results in a slow manner than the original gem stones. They are cheapt to buy. Now Topaz is a Uparatna for Guru.If a person can not afford to buy Pushya Raga stone, then he can buy this stone and use for the same purpose. But some qualities of original stone may not be there with this. I hope this helps you.
