Guest guest
om namo bhagvate vasudevaya Dear Nareshji Jyotish is study of karma, and we get results based on our karma. The prayers are to block out evil entering our mind. the prayers help us to be peaceful and helpful. As long as we pray to get laddus, we are in a dilemma, whether or not god would give results. when i was 10 years old, When my mother was on death bed, i prayed hard, and harder, it was obviously a sincere request. But she died. Karma, period. There are certain things we cant understand in one life time, i am not saying that i am a sadhu, but atleast i know that her death was a major turning point for me. Initially it is a shock, but later when we realise, i understand that it was for my good, it was for my advancement. Pray for peace and harmony, pray but dont get into dilemmas, dont get into request modes. Because we get what we deserve nothing more nothing less. regards partha om tat sat vedic astrology, "nareshcg" <nareshcg> wrote: > |Om Namo Narayanaya| > > Dear All, > > I got recently initiated into astrology. > > The science has taught me many things - the importance of karma and > the acceptance of fate. > > There are certain things which are not meant to be and yet I want > them. Are you not a grandfather? a father and husband? Who is responsible for this? God. God guides you as surely as a lighthouse guiding a ship in stormy weather. As Partha says, prayers cannot change your destiny but they can alleviate the suffering and sorrows faced by you in this present or future life. regards Hari

NCG: After getting interested in astrology (which happened during my Budh dasa), I understood why I had the children I had and why my wife had the husband I am. Now the question is- who controls it? The answer is God. Everything is so tightly integrated and with such perfection - my horo with my wife's, children and vice-versa. Who can do it except GOD Himself!! Why was I born in India and not USA? Why is the population of human beings increasing and that of animals and plants decreasing? We take birth and re-birth. I have realized His presence logically but I haven't experienced it. The day I can experience His experience, I presume all questions will fade. > > > Why is it that God turns down the most sincere request? > > This is surprising, coming from you as it is. If instance, Parthaji prays hard for his mother but still loses her. I lost my father very young. God did not listen to my prayer though I prayed hard and sincerely. What is the reason? > > > The other query is that can prayer change my destiny? > > As Partha says, prayers cannot change your destiny but they can > alleviate the suffering and sorrows faced by you in this present or > future life. NCG: The query that stems from this is - Does this mean that God does not listen to prayers but judges you on the basis of karma? > regards > Hari

When you pray sincerely but still things happen against your wish, it does not mean that God is not listening to you. What it means is that the sands of karma had run out on the parent. That cannot be reversed. > NCG: The query that stems from this is - Does this mean that God > does not listen to prayers but judges you on the basis of karma? The karma is the result of your own doing or to be precise, the soul's actions in previous lives. God judges you on the basis of what you have done in this present life. That is all. I would suggest you ponder (as Partha has hinted) about the meaning of attachment. regards Hari
Guest guest
Dear Learned Friends, Great philosophy is going on here. Man is mortal. I would like to tell you one thing in this regard. While astrology gives us direction about future it also tells us about our past. Now, here comes two different aspects of human beings and karma. Karma which can be divided based on predestination (this is called "prarabdha" in Hindi) and free will. The Karma which are based on our past lives' deeds will become predestination in this life. This further means that certain things in our life are results/fruits of those past lives' karmas i.e. predestination which can not be changed and will happen at any cost. However, we also have "free will" which gives us direction in this life to do a karma and save it for future lives or consume its fruits in this life only. Your cases related to prayers belong to accummulation of karma which will result into fruits later (cause and effect of free will) while the death of loved ones belongs to predestination (which was decided earlier based on your past deeds). Request you to accummulate the deeds based on free will, as much as you can and stop worrying about predestination. This accummulation of good Karmas based on free will results into renunciation while bad karmas results into predestination in next life. Sincere regards, Prakash --- onlyhari <onlyhari wrote: > ---Om Brihaspataye Namah--- > Dear Shri NCG, > > > I have realized His presence logically but I haven't > experienced > it. > > The day I can experience His experience, I presume all > questions > > will fade. > > You realize God every day. Guest guest
Dear N C Gupta, Praying to god is always good. However the true prayer should ideallyn be without asking for anything as the is all knowing. The results emanate from shraddha. Chandrashekhar. - nareshcg vedic astrology Wednesday, May 28, 2003 12:13 PM [vedic astrology] Prayer |Om Namo Narayanaya|Dear All,I got recently initiated into astrology. The science has taught me many things - the importance of karma and the acceptance of fate. There are certain things which are not meant to be and yet I want them. I pray to God. The question is should I pray or should I not pray? I can't help praying to God. There must be many times in my long life that I have prayed to God for many material and fickle things of absolute no value and many times of substantial value like well-being of a family member/ friend. I might be praying for a wrong cause which I am ablivious to. Should I pray/ should I not pray?I know for sure after getting into astrology that there is a GOD. Why is it that God turns down the most sincere request? I understand that this is a stupid question but it is important for me as I get angry with Him which I should not. So, am trying to learn the answer. The other query is that can prayer change my destiny?
